Cafe 520

Wow! Best coffee on the west coast and one of the best I have had for a long time. This is a real hidden gem, opposite the Police station and just off the main drag.Great retro decor, simple and clean, with friendly staff and a comfortable feeling.Great place for breakfast ( and the only place open in Queenstown at 0800 when I was cruising for a coffee and meal).I’ll be back on my next trip!

Nice little cafe in Queenstown. We had some pies and a sausage roll. The sausage roll was delicious and pies were pretty tasty. The pastry is a winner.

Disclaimer; I know my sausy-rolls.I can’t stop thinking about the sausage rolls from Cafe 520, its consumed my thoughts all day and has been clouding my judgement. Very dangerous - consider printing warnings on the paper bags.It’s been about 8 hours between when I consumed the sausage roll to writing this review and honestly it’s all I can think about, I’ve forgotten my name. It was just the little half size sausage roll and as soon as I got back on the road I was instantly filled with regret for not purchasing the large full size one. I considered stopping and turning around to go back for another.I also had a coffee that was wonderful, a pie and a toasted sandwich thing on a Turkish bun both great but it was the little sausage roll that really took my breath away. You guys need to enter it into a sausage roll baking competition or something - you’ll clean up and turn the industry into a spin.It’s like the filling mixture kind of caramelised on the outside which indicates to me that some real love went into that mixture. Such delicious flavours. And the pastry is on point as well.Hope it doesn’t happen but if I’m ever on death row, those sausage rolls are what I’d request for my final meal.By the way - I had NO SAUCE!!! Unbeatable.

Who else came here to try the sausage roll bc of that one review down there? xD It was very delicious! The coffee wasn't good tho... I rarely never finish my coffee, but I left this one

Great Coffee and pies. I only with they did eggs bennidict and such for breakfast.

I can't believe the small number of reviews for this fascinating modern Cafe. When I say modern I mean recently built/renovated with extremely fantastic old stuff. Quirky tables and upstairs is worth a climb just to have a squizz. Really good coffee and the sausage rolls are superb.....bordering on the best I've ever had. Service is quick and friendly. Would have to be the cleanest Cafe I think I've ever been in , and yes, it's in Queenstown. You wouldn't believe a Cafe of this calibre would be hiding down a back street in Queenstown.

Beautiful Cafe in such a deserted town. Staff are kind and they take such pride in their workplace.Meat pies and sausage rolls were amazing.Highly highly recommended stopping here.

Best pies in town and in fact, best pie I've had anywhere actually, apart from home. So glad to not have the standard shortcrust base, just perfectly flaky puff handmade on site. Very filling, fresh and reasonably priced though there are no prices on anything, which can be a turn off. But 10/10, will definitely be buying my pies here regularly from now on.

Tasty sausage rolls and meat pies. Pastry was delicious - crisp and crusty. Good place to stop for a quick lunch.
