So much potential but so little care for this little cabin immersed into nature. Location is fantastic: in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wildlife. So remote that you can make your own campfire in front of the cabin. The cabin itself is outdated. There hasn’t been any care put into it. The mattress is so old that you can feel the springs on your back, towels are so old that are all crumpled, the outdoor wooden table is falling apart, there are not basic necessities as for example salt/pepper and olive oil for cooking, shampoo and the soup was hidden away maybe with the hope we were not going to find it. There are so many notes around the house with rules which I found it rude considering the lack of hospitality.

It was a pleasant stay with friends. We had taken 3 cottages and the location was apt with kangaroos around. It is quite a secluded place and kids will enjoy this place. Very short drive to Cessnock.

We had a lovely experience at the Merlot cottage. Great clean sanctuary in the country yet close to the wineries and attractions. Location is fantastic, Paul is super helpful, my dog loved it. Definitely will go back.

We stayed a few years ago they are not like pictures they are cabins from hell. Outside tables buckled bent unusable. The inside cabins old run down and critters running around in roof all night awful. I can't believe still being used after all this time sad. And not cheap.

I booked here because they advertised fireplaces. The cabins looked great , it was cold and a fireplace appealed. I actually paid more than another place then when we arrived there was no fireplace but only a heater. It was very disappointing and I feel that should be put on the website as I wouldn’t have booked there.

I LOVED my stay, great hide away spot to escape the world and nearest city; newcastle was really nice too, as were all of little surrounding towns. Lots of beautiful kangaroos and lots of space to explore with our dogs.Heads up; there’s no pay tv and the DVD player in our cottage didn’t work, but hey, maybe it’s better that way. Also, did have issues with the property manager, she was a little highly strung. But over all, loved the stay and had no real issues.

We stayed at the Hermitage cottage, which had everything we need but the cottage itself needs some maintenance (cracked bathroom tiles, broken external timber cladding etc). The pros are being able to build your own fire outside, seeing the roos hopping around and the cabins are well spaced for privacy and peace. It is a dirt road in and out of the property so don't bring your porsche!

Booked in July for December Christmas holidays got a confirmation so I emailed to ask when the funds would be paid was told one week before stay. Two weeks before I was set to stay I received a email to inform me that the price they had confirmed with me was incorrect and the new price was double the original price. I asked for a discount as I couldn’t afford the price to double two weeks out from Christmas and they gave me a $100 off but still being $300 more was unable to afford and had to cancel. Highly do not recommend
