If you like hiking you should definitely go. Take snacks water and you should be fine. Public toilets are available.

Great place for hikes, family friendly, you can also take your dogs along with you.Definitely recommend for an enjoyable hike.Nice picnic areas also.

Great place to go for relaxation. Good walks to the top and around. Useful opening hours. Nice picnic areas and other walks. Locals use it for fitness too. Enjoyed the scenery from the carpark and the top. Amenities available too.

Look very attractive mountain if you are traveling on Bacchus marsh - Geelong road, maybe one day try to climb on it

Having lived all my life in Melbourne, I was shocked at having not known about the spectacular beauty to be seen from the look-out at the Big Rock picnic grounds in You Yang Regional Park at the foot of the You Yangs. The photos I am posting do not do justice to the breathtaking panorama of forests you will see stretching into the distance. It might not rival the best of the views from the Grampian peaks or Blue Mountains, but gosh it comes close! It is almost a mini Uluru with a very easy walk to the ledge look-outs. The picnic area is immaculately maintained with ample parking, excellent new BBQ and toilet facilities. And it is only about an hour's drive out of Melbourne. There are lots of trails which I look forward to exploring to explore, some of which go to important historical sites. We saw people abseiling and there are mountain-bike trails. Honestly, what more could you want?!

Amazing place for picnics, all levels of hiking as in non strenuous to difficult. Not too far from Melbourne as well with lots of parking n picnic spots available.

Great free place to go for a hike or a picnic especially if you are in the west of Melbourne since its just a short drive. Very popular and crowded on weekend. You can bring your dogs too.There are 3 car parks from the bottom to midpoint of the peak so you can choose to park where you wanna start your walk. Toilets and picnic tables and chairs are available at each car park.Big rock walk is best for family with kids as its just couple of steps from the car park. Plenty of picnic slots with bbq and fire pits too.We did the main walk from the bottom car park to Flinder peak. 8.7km. Took us around 1.5 hrs to the top with resting and photo time and 45 mins to get down. We are quite fit and average hikers.

Beautiful place for walk. Easy walk but could get very busy. I’ve ever seen so many dogs in the regional park as this is dog friendly park. I wanted give 5 stars but I gave 4 because in the toilet, hardly breath.... so bad odore...

So close to the city, easy access via the train which stops at little river station, an awsome days riding, was fun, lots of tracks that were so enjoyable
