Wonderful stay, Penelope helped us out with accommodation at last minute and it was the perfect stay. Very affordable, excellent breakfast and hospitality. Historically significant building was a bonus (built circa 1835). Thoroughly recommended. Check out the local Saturday markets too.

New owner in 2022. Previous reviews no longer applicable. I wouldn’t stay again. No WiFi in Room. No off street parking. Street parking on a steep hill. Floorboards creaked and moved so much was sure we would fall though. Bedside lamp was so bright and hot would work well as a bathroom heater. Very Steep 52degree steps down to breakfast room. No choice of hot menu for breakfast. Pot luck on what is served up.Antique collection gone. No longer get free Port or Sherry to the room.

Very warm and kind host. Antique collections and English style stuffs are everywhere which make people feel like being welcomed in UK. Wonderful sightseeing you can enjoy. Strongly recommended.

this place was homely, comfortable, lovely, one problem for me and its only cause of my body, and joints, the stair case from top level to ground level was hard for me to maneuver, but my hubby had no problem at all. the hosts Lydia and James were awsome good value for money, breaky what a delight and the dinner was great. bed was comfy.

The room was excellent. loved the ambience, Penelope is a wonderful host, I felt absolutely at home. Her breakfasts were just yummy!!....enjoyed our conversations immensely...and the skate boarding dog was the icing on the cake!!!! Will return anytime I can. I would recommend this place with more than 5 stars if it were possible.

Very quaint place, wooden floors made lots of noise, wi fi not so hot either,no off street parking, however management was very courteous
