We sold a property in Ballarat and got Barbara Morrision from MNG Lawyers engaged to do the conyeyancing work. We never knew Barbara and used her as she was recommended by our Real Estate Agent . We have bought and sold many properties in Victoria and the experience with Barbara has been the worst ever. Barbara has provided us with very poor services, and she didn’t fulfil her basic responsibilities in conveyancing workOur property sale was not an ordinary one as the property had storm water damage. We sold it nearly $200,000 less compared to the market appraisal. Buyers put a lot of conditions for us to fulfil prior to the sale and we fulfilled all these conditions to the best of our knowledgeAt no point Barbara was able to inform or educate us around the special conditions imposed by the buyer which is normally done by the conveyancer/solicitor as they need to look after the best interest of their clientsAn example: One of the conditions was to replace the existing Heating/Cooling System. We obtained quotations from trade personnel and provided the quotes to Barbara and requested her to deduct a sum of $4000 from the sale price as per the quotes provided. She had no objections to this. However 2 days prior to the settlement Barbara advised that the quotes have since expired and therefore a sum of $8000 would be held in Trust account by her office for the replacement of the unit. We did not agree and obtained new quotes and provided to her last minute and the buyer accepted the quote and agreed to deduct $4000 from the sale priceBarbara was only interested in money and wanted to push the settlement to go through despite of the financial damage to her client. She was very insensitive, and no personalised service was provided ever.After the settlement we approached Barbara to obtain one off access to the property for an engineer as required by our insurance company for the purpose of the storm water damage claim. We emailed her at 4.29pm on 14th March 2023 and at 4.31pm she replied …….“ The purchasers have chosen to decline access to the property. There is nothing further our office can assist with, and your matter is officially closed with us. I have been advised that any further work you require will be charged at our hourly rate”.Her reply came within 2 minutes of our email, and we believe she never even contacted the buyers solicitors in order to try help us out as a genuine human being.Once again she was only interested in the money and not in providing any personalised service.Few other points to mention1. Requested all parties to manually print, sign and scan all the documents. When we requested only, she send the link via the docusign.2. NO direct number to contact her and the office phone was always unattended. Never replied to phone calls.3. NO communication to support us at all! Just did the transaction to get paid.4. Barbara has even included the special condition in the contract to replace the heater with a new one without consulting us at all. We mentioned to Real Estate Agent that we will put a new one, only in case the existing one is not repairable. Barbara had a duty and responsibility to discuss this with us. But she never did.5. Barbara did not mention that the allowance of $8000 was requested due to the expired quotes. When we questioned only she checked with the purchaser and advised that it was due to the expired quotes. She was well aware of these quotes all the time.We do not recommend MNG lawyers for any property transactions at all and in particular Barbara Morrison. There are so many good Solicitors and Conveyancers out there. Pick someone else or you will regret it

Simone and her team at MNG Lawyers were amazing in ensuring we had every box ticked and were ready to settle our purchase on time. We had a complex situation involving 6 new owners to be on title, a vendor family that were quite dysfunctional and the purchase also included water rights which further added to the challenge. Simone negotiated everything wonderfully and guided us through the process to a successful completion on the planned settlement date. Thanks MNG - the support and assistance was much appreciated.

Rosetta from MNG lawyers was an absolute gun. This is the second time I’ve used Rosetta for a property settlement and she was amazing as always.
