If i could put in minus 5 i would .sent gibsons cv driveshaft for bf gtp for swap to universals on tail they said they were experts at it once fitted the whole car vibrated and damaged the rear of the zf transmissionI brought the car in and i got the cold shoulder and told he had no time to even take it for a run i even offered to remove it for himI had to then send it to hardy splicer for repair and foot the bill for rear of transmission damageHardy splicer then sent me all the damaged pieces and a reason why it vibrated i sent this to them and was told they are the competition and they wont tell the truth and he wont be paying for the repair or gearbox damageCompletely untrustworthy and a piece of s@#t im out nearly 3g for $800 of bad work

great workshop with staff who know really know their stuff. the quality of their products is the best around and their reconditioned shafts are probably better than oem parts.

Delivered a VK two piece tail shaft for refurbishing to suit Turbo 700 to 10 bolt Salisbury diff.Only measurement requested by Gibsons was for front shaft from front universal to centrebearing mounting bolts. Shaft completed but when installed it was very smooth in reverseunder load but pigrooted severely in forward gears. Back to Gibsons to ask for advice to solve problem. Pack centre bearing down was initial advice. Not the solution so went back again,advice on this occasion was fit a one piece shaft. After many weeks of head scratchingdiscovered that the rear shaft measurement was 20mm too long and was compressing the frontshaft CV spline into the CV joint putting the CV joint under constant pressure. This pigrooting was made worse in forward gears due to the rear shaft having no play on the front shaft CV joint spline. No measurement was requested as to the rear shaft length hence the overall shaft length from the centre bearing back was 20mm too long. To their credit Gibsons prior to discovering the length discrepancy in the rear shaft did attempt to address the pigrooting problem at no charge by phasing the universals at 90deg but the problem persisted. Initial build cost $360.00 charge to rectify rear shaft extra length $187.00. Cant criticise Gibsons work quality but if you deal with this firm get everything in writing beforehand as their attitude when problems like this occur is its your fault and they cant do anything wrong. The overall shaft length and in particular the rear section for this converted shaft should have been ascertained as was the front shaft measurement. Gibsons represent themselves as driveline experts and as such this problem could have been easily avoidedif their systems were more organised and a rear shaft measurement had been ascertained. To put the blame back on the customer for their lack of care in addressing the whole shaft relative to the conversion is somewhat unfair and charging to rectify the problem which that lack of care and attention to detail created in the first place is in my opinion a bit over the top. This is not a criticism of the work quality but rather their lack of attention to the detail of the work required. The reason we as customers go to firms such as this is their expertise in the field. Having spoken to other people who have had shafts built for this type of conversion they have advised me they were issued with a specification sheet asking for measurement A. - (a) being front shaft length from centre of front universal to centre bearing mounting bolts. B. - with (b) being rear shaft length from centre of rear universal to centre bearing mounting bolts. Apparently there is rules for some and different rules for others. As I said earlier be very alert and dot your i's and cross your t's with this firm. If you deal with this firm and you fall into the rules for others camp you will" be out of pocket as it will be "you" the customer that will have to pay to fix Gibsons failures."

Why offer warranty if your not gonna uphold it fairwork ombudsman needs to have a look at these blokes

Gave me a qoute over the phone, drove over 1hr to drop off driveshaft only to be told triple the quoted amount because they were very busy with a big order". Complete waste of my time and petrol which isn't cheap these days. Showed them another brand new built one from a Sydney supplier who they went on to say "their quality of work isn't good
