Make Designed Objects

Wonderful service. I buy ALL my presents for myself and family here, online. Always wrapped carefully and delivered quickly. The physical store is lovely too. Also, do you self a favour and sign up to their funny newsletter!

This has been my 'go-to' place for many years for presents for family and friends, but especially for myself! I've never left the store without finding what I wanted or needed and the website is a great resource for ideas. This Christmas I directed my son to the shop for my Christmas present with a link from the website - why put up with an inferior gift when what I wanted was available at Make? And the service is wonderful.

I've been shopping at Make for (I can no longer remember how many) years. The range is fantastic and I like that from time to time the store has championed new locally designed products, opening a first retail outlet door for emerging talent. There's a lot of variety among my friends and family members and yet I can't think of anyone for whom I wouldn't find something apt from the Make store as a gift. The staff are helpful without being obtrusive or pushy and the store invariably has a pleasant, low key ambiance. These are the things that keep me coming back.

What an amazing store! All my favourite things in one place [Well most things; there's no wine : ) ] And the staff have been particularly helpful with online purchases and fabric choices. Keep up the great work team. Can't wait for my next trip to Melbourne & a visit to Make Design Objects!

I LOVE this store, one of my Melbourne favourite places I take visitors to, and visit in person or online when I can, especially if looking for the right quirky gift, for that quirky rello. It helps that I'm Finnish (hence the quirks) and they stock lots of Finnish stuff, so I can support both nationalities at once - keep the (greater) family happy! Also other stuff from great design companies around the world, always quality design and materials, whose worth will last a lifetime - if kept away from toddlers! (I've had 2, know what it costs, in freedom as well as cash.) Buying online this last year, stuff I ordered arrived promptly, safely packed. And we all get too many emails (or is that just my micro-generation? What's a generation these days, 5 years? 10? 3? Used to be 25) but those from Make are always worth scrolling through - funny, entertaining, sometimes even informative - how many emails are like that? I'm glad they (and the cow pics) are around and hope they will be for years to come. The stairs will be an issue for zimmer frames though...deal with that when the time comes...

Make is a fantastic place to pick up innovative birthday gifts, especially for yourself. And it doesn't even have to be your birthday because they can keep a secret. Due to COVID I haven't been in store since Feb20 but I drop in each time I visit Melbourne. I did my entire Christmas shop with them on-line and they even phoned to check one thing. Can't fault the friendly and ever so helpful staff. I also love the cow pics and humour throughout their email. Often makes me laugh out loud. Great job guys and gals!

Always an exciting adventure stepping into the store - never know what I'm going to walk out with. I'm usually drawn there when I have a gift to buy for someone, but inevitably also pick up several self-gifts while I'm at it. Super happy my Carlton office has re-opened again and I can put a lunch-time visit to Make in my daily calendar. The online store is great but the in-person experience can't be beat.

We first came across Make Designed Objects many years ago when we selected the store for our wedding registry because they have all our favourite design pieces. We had a great experience with them then and have been loyal customers ever since. The staff are wonderful and I love getting Pat's store updates in my inbox - always entertaining and interesting. Thanks for bringing great design to us all.

Make Designed Objects has been my ‘go to’ shop for gifts for many years. And their complimentary gift wrapping is stylish and beautiful, in keeping with their products. It’s a rare visit to the shop when I don’t also get something for myself as well, with their Australian designer, Fink, being a longtime favourite. Great staff too.

I discovered this gem of a store by accident a few years ago. It is amazing how many items are inside this labyrinth and they are all quality brands and some extra quirky items. The staff are great and let you browse at your own pace. I've bought many gifts here and perhaps a few little treats for myself. I especially love my fink & co red bowl and my Flensted mobiles (great gift for new babies and kids too).
