A bright cheery studio, easy to get to, with ample parking. Range of class times: weekdays, weeknights and Saturdays. Easy to book and reschedule as required. Recently relocated to this new site, after 20+ years at Robertson Park. The studio supports a broad range of ceramic art: hand-building, sculptural and functional forms but not wheel throwing. Design, construction, surface decoration, firing on site. Diverse approaches and experimentation are encouraged. Relaxed adult learning principles are followed (but within sound environmental and OS&H guidelines). You have an internationally recognized tutor, (a veritable walking encyclopaedia) on tap, to answer any queries, and the cameraderie of other non-ceramic artists also working at the studio. Many students have been coming regularly for years. Accommodates students and artists from the absolute beginner, to more experienced.

You could buy a block of clay and play around with it at home, but you'd be missing out on the atmosphere, expertise and inspiration found in these classes. Whether you've got an idea you want to make happen or just want to go exploring, Graham facilitates a pleasant environment for a creative outlet.

This is my 2nd review, the first was posted after my first lesson and this is some weeks after my last lesson.Small groups with friendly participants. I was a complete beginner and excited to be trying something that I had always wanted to do. My first lesson was enjoyable and I quickly signed up for 6 more classes (bulk buying is promoted).Unfortunately after this, both on a personal level and as a novice I was not made to feel welcome or comfortable by the tutor on many occasions. I made the most of it as refunds are not provided and I had fun with the clay but ultimately I felt disappointed and saddened by my experience here.My advice to anyone reading this is please shop around and don't buy classes in bulk until you are sure of your environment. First impressions are not always accurate.

Loved attending the classes. Graham has designed them so that they're flexible and catered to your needs. It's a great place for those starting out as well as those who are at a more advanced level. Highly recommended!
