Had to go to the tribunal to get our bond back for what you would hope was the rules a real estate agent would know about. Seems like an obvious bully tactic on them hoping we didn't know how to get legal advice.

I can echo some comments left here by other renters who have had similar experiences with Homefinders Real Estate.Taking them over a month to settle a dispute over a maintenance issue is not called being responsive, before I commenced legal proceedings against them. During the period, no one from the company communicated with me (Julie, Sarah or Barbara) for an follow-up or update, despite numerous emails from me requesting for updates.An unsatisfactory agreement was finally put to me by the company after more than a month of waiting. It wasn’t much of an agreement, rather a take it or leave it deal throwing at my face. However, by that point, it was clearly better to move on as a renter than wasting more time with an agency that is not looking after the interests of renters. As advertised on their website, they are after the businesses of property buyers and sellers.If you’re a renter who is looking to rent through an agency that can look after you, this one is definitely not going to go above and beyond for you.If you have struggled dealing with Homefinders in the past, in addition to other difficulties you may be experiencing in your life, you would understand where these comments come from.

Legitimately the worst agency I have ever had the pleasure of renting through!!! Thieving and unprofessional, very rude in the office. yuck

Not even one star. Very stressful and horrible experience with this agency. I lost all my identifications, bank account details and valuables (worth $10,000) on their Inspection day on the 10th OCT. They failed to keep the place in a reasonable secure state for me. I gave them notice ahead to move out. They never gave prompt reply on that. Later they asked the other two girls to move out, so that they can take the house back to start a new lease. But those girls can not move out so soon. I barely know the two other girls. I always consider it as a separate lease. When someone wants to move out, the agency just get someone new into this house to replace the outgoing one. The girls started to putting pressure on me and asked me to pay the rent until they are ready. I have no idea how they get my personal information and phone number. I moved out much earlier before those two girls. I have no control over the maintenance of the house after I left. I was not able to get my bond back until now. There is no cooperative efforts and understanding throughout the negotiation process. All I feel is coercion. This is very stressful. I have visited the the psychological counselor three times due to this horrible experience. As an overseas student, I feel helpless in the issue.

As a young professional with a flawless rental history before them, I didnt anticipate any problems however I felt disrespected and constantly lived in fear as a tenant under homefinders, which was the main reason i chose not to renew our lease. No communication between owner and tenants was allowed unless through them and they completely stuffed that up. No one wants to live in a home where you constantly get picked on and made to feel like a terrible tenant even though you've never had any problems before and tried your best. The whole year was a very stressful experience for me and I was terrified they were going to put me on a rental blacklist. I had a lot of trouble finding another place to rent after them as they were giving me bad rental reviews. Not to mention we ended up at the tribunal because they tried to take all my bond.

I can highly recommend Homefinders as a highly effective and professional property management and sales team. They managed my property for 12+ years and then sold it a few months ago. During this period they were always responsive to emails and phone calls and attended to repairs and maintenance promptly. They provided good advice about rental and sales market and followed through on my instructions. Over the 12+ years that they managed the property, it was only vacant for around a month at time when there was an oversupply of properties in the ACT. A few months ago they sold my property and leading up to the sale, they provided excellent advice about how to prepare it for sale without over capitalizing on my investment. The property sold within a week for much more than I expected and I was delighted with the outcome. I cannot recommend the Homefinders team more highly.

As a recent tenant with Homefinders I have nothing but high praise for this agency. From the start to the end of my tenancy they were professional, kind and responsive, particularly one weekend when my hot water service unexpectedly packed it in. I cannot recommend them enough and would certainly rent through them again if the time came. Many thanks to Sarah, Barbara, Julie and the rest of the team.

My partner and I found homefinders to be an exceptionally helpful and professional realestate agent firm. They made our relocation to Canberra easy and stress free. Our rental property was as advertised and in a very good condition. Throughout our tenancy all requests for maintenance were promptly and appropriately actioned. Our vacation process was smooth. An excellent experience overall.

As a renter with several weeks of experience renting through Homefinders Real Estate I can say this is truly a very unprofessional and badly organized/managed company. An absolute lack of communication regarding my maintenance issues, even after several phone and e-mail urgencies. I fear that my rental will get problematic with them if there will be any more serious issues to deal with. I absolutely don't feel they take a good care for their customers.

90% of the positive reviews are from landlords. If you are a renter: stay away from any property run by Homefinders. I'm a landlord myself and have been a renter of one of their houses. Expect no help from them when you actually need it. Every small item becomes a battleground and they will try and wring every single cent from your bond when you leave. One of the most unhelpful and frustrating businesses I’ve had to deal with. I'm sure landlords love them, but thank god I will NEVER have to rent from them again. An absolute nightmare and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with them again. Beware...
