Abyssinia Cafe Restaurant
Food was fantastic, definitely worth dining in or take away. Much better now than a few years back, guess that's because the kitchen is in new hands. Dining tables had real cloth.... crazy I know, but its hard to come by in Indian restaurants now days, just a nice touch. Also the chef was very nice, and friendly, and seemed passionate about his restaurant. Make sure you try them at least once, you'll probably want to go back!

Abyssinia Cafe Restaurant
Abyssinia restaurant is part of Townview Motel which we stayed at for 2 days. We found the motel and stay really lovely. I had the chicken wat which was really tasty. Chef went out of his way to do our meal to our particular taste and he did not disappoint. The meal was a good size plus we ordered a side of rice which was more than enough for 2 people. Also naan bread which was the best i have tasted yet and i have had a few naan breads from all over different countries. Awesome tasty meal. I would highly recommend Abyssinia. Its a must to try if you are in Mt Isa definitely.

Excellent!The food was to die for.Not good selection of drinks, but we made do with what they had.The waiter serving was very very good! Lovely friendly young fella.I took a visitor from out of town and she said it was the best Indian she had tasted. She tried something completely different to what she eats and LOVED it.10 out if 10We'll be back!

Abyssinia Cafe Restaurant
Ordered an Ethiopian dish and was told it was not available. Had no choice but to accept the beef vindaloo which was real salty. Also ordered the garlic and cheese naan but it was so lousy that the restaurant did not charge us for it. Overall it was not a good experience.

Abyssinia Cafe Restaurant
Abyssinia is one of those places that has that genuine family restaurant feel. The owners/chef are absolutely fantastic, lovely and make your night feel very special. While I don't normally ask for changes to the menu due to dietary requirements, they were more than happy to accommodate and even remembered about it and reminded me about certain dishes. Genuinely nice people. The pictures don't do it justice, please try for yourself and enjoy. Will definitely be coming back again! Go in and see Moon-Moon and Huq, you won't regret it.Edit: I would have added more food photos but I was too busy enjoying the food.

Some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten and I traveled around India for 6 months!!!Also the family that run this restaurant are amazing. Without a doubt.... the nicest, friendliest, most hospitable restaurant owners I have ever had the pleasure of dining with.Trust me.... go here for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Really nice service and clean restaurant, ordered 2 drinks, 2 currys, 2 cheese garlic naan breads and 1 coconut rice. Perfect amount for 2 people, still had left over rice. Good prices too. The gentleman that served us was very nice, and catering for our table. Goes along way in Mount Isa to have good table service with a smile.Will be back to enjoy another meal again.
