I think the weather effects how pink the pink lake is. What can you do about that though. There was other pink lakes in this area so just drive around for another option.

We went their on the first week of January and there was no pink lake. It was a salt lake with no water. Probably the time we went was so dry so there was no water. It took us 3 hours to drive from Adelaide and ended up with frustration. So please be aware if you are driving from Adelaide just for this lake.Sorry but not recommended.

It was few different shades of pink.Definitely needs some shelter or rest areas, no drinking water, no toilets nearby.

I was excited to visit the Pink Lake but when we got there it wasn't very pink and the lake was dry. There was a pink shine under the salt surface and the lake was dry which meant that we could walk over it crunching as we went and take lots of photos. This is a place definitely worth going to.
