The Avenue Children's Centre & Kindergarten

The Avenue is a great community childcare, the programs they run like bush kinder, art sessions, Spanish and jungle gym are my daughter's favourites. We have been part of The Avenue family for more than 6 years with our 2 girls attending, and there's nothing I would change about this centre.The community we have built around it with parents and educators is so valuable to us.I highly recommend this centre.

Exceptional community-run childhood education centre. The educators are passionate about creating a fun and enriching environment, and focus on nurturing the kids' social and emotional well being. Chefs Miguel (and Ash previously) provide delicious and nutritious food. The centre also provides an amazing range of programs and activities to challenge and inspire our little learners, including bush kinder, Spanish lessons, kitchen garden, news day, art classes and incursions and excursions. We highly recommend this centre.

I have found The Avenue to be the most caring, homely environment for my three young boys. It is the kind of environment they can explore, grow, be creative and get close to nature all in one place. I love the fact they offer a Bush Kinder program at the 4 year old kinder level. The staff are all amazingly caring and there is a real sense of community given the Centre's long history in the area and small size. Highly recommend for babies all the way up to kinder programs.

Highly recommend The Avenue. We moved our kids here from another (big chain) centre and have been so impressed with the quality of care. The educators really care about the children, organise great activities (eg musicians, bush kinder, cultural celebrations) and are excellent communicators. It's such a lovely place

Amazing caring Centre. My child loves being here, the staff retention is remarkable which in itself is a testament to the quality of the place. You walk in there and feel part of a community, The staff know all the kids and their families and the kids enjoy being there. I love how old fashioned and loving the atmosphere is. Highly recommend it. It would be tragedy to loose it to councils plans to build a formulaic, massive Centre.

Our daughter has been going to the Avenue since she was 11 months old. This is a place like home where children are cared for in such an amazing way. Their 3 and 4 years old kinder program is of high quality so we didn’t not need to go elsewhere. Our daughter is turning 5 in March and thanks to the Avenue, we know she’s totally ready to start prep in January 2023.

The Avenue is like a home away from home for my son. He feels at ease and supported; he learns and thrives through play, educational activities and bush kinder adventures; he has a sense of responsibility and importance through daily tasks like being the lunch monitor; he gains confidence by presenting something fun at news day; his body is nourished by the incredible meals served daily (often including ingredients grown by the children); he tries all sorts of new foods that he'd never touch at home; and his absolute adoration of the teachers is testament to just how much the childcare you choose needs to feel like an extension of your family.If you're looking for a space where your child can enjoy being the best version of themselves in these crucial early years, I encourage you to consider The Avenue.

After moving to the area, we heard about The Avenue's wonderful reputation from other local parents. We are lucky to now have two children there. Our children love The Avenue and the kind, supportive staff.Our children have grown so much since attending the centre. The centre has low staff turnover so our children think of the staff as a second family. The education standards are high and include bush kinder and frequent excursions, such as to Melbourne Museum and to local parks.They have a great chef, Miguel, who prepares wonderful, healthy meals.

The Avenue is a second home for my daughter and son (whi have attended since babies), and they genuinely look forward to attending each day which gives us peace of mind regarding their care and well-being. The centre is very well located, offers everything that children need to grow and develop over their formative years, and the educators are warm, friendly, and highly experienced. The food provided is well-planned, nutritious, and appealing to children. We’ve certainly seen our children flourish at the centre and highly recommend to others in the area!
