Avoca Palms Resort

Spoilt our weekend away. We are locals & wanted our friends to have a gr8 weekend in the penthouse! It was a run down penthouse. Check in was late by over 1.5hours.Owner didn't seem to have a care factor.Was short on toilet paper for 7 people. Owner seemed reluctant to give us any when it wasn't restocked in our rooms as it was. Garbage bags the same story.Not to mention the floors were not vacuumed or washed properly even though we gave cleaners extra time.Pool & spa were not heated, as it was stated on webites. We would've spent more time there.

Pretty average experience at this place. We stayed in the 4br penthouse suite which was pretty expensive so you'd expect some sort of quality. The bedroom tvs did not work, bathroom water faucet was faulty, the pool was not heated (as advertised), hot water in the shower ran out quickly, as well as a few other things. Most importantly, the woman in the office is incredibly rude, and the place doesn't have an elevator so expect to do a lot of walking up and down the stairs. Would not return here.

The view from the three bedroom penthouse is nice. Avoca beach is beautiful and good for surfers but is a decent walk from the resort. You are close to the cafe and grocery store which is good if you choose to cook in your room which is a nice option. The kitchen in the room is large and spacious. The beds are also large and comfortable. Some of the furniture is getting tired (table top held on with tape??) and toilet seats are plastic and Ill-fitting but these are minor issues. However, for some reason the resort thinks it ok to have no-one in reception for hours on certain days. This is not ok and should be always staffed except during the night. Overall, 4/5 and it would be easy to push this to a 5.

Central venue in Avoca with great views over the town and glimpses to the beach. We had a 2 bedroom suit which was spacious comfortable and well furnished. Undercover secure parking with pedestrian access to suites. Would recommend and we will return again.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment and decor are quite dated (circa late 90s). Overall the apartment is comfortable, with a big lounge room and dining space. The kitchen is in working order and updated appliances. There is some wear and tear that is quite visible throughout and is shown most on the bathroom. Water pressure in the shower is good. The view from apartment 17 is not towards the beach. The amenities on site are very nice. The pool and spa are heated and open all year. There is an on site gym, games room and outdoor cooking facilities. It is close to the beach and local shops.

Great 3 bed apartment. However, needs a lot of maintenance; two dining chairs with broken backs, tips you out of chair when you lean back, black kickboard plastic cover gets in your way when working at the kitchen sink, broken towel rails in bathroom, curtains falling apart and sticky with, I hope, salt spray. Desperately need loving g care.

My husband and I were very impressed with our stay at Avoca Palms Resort. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. The rooms were spacious, fresh and clean and the views were incredible! We have told so many of our friends and family how great this place is and can’t wait to come back!

Large rooms, great pool and games room, lots of stairs. We would stay here again.If you struggle with stairs I suggest you request a lower floor unit, we were on the top floor and had loads of stairs each day, no lifts.

Really spacious apartments,located away from the hustle and bustle of town close to nearby Cafes. Wasnt the cleanest, felt a bit old & tired and no complimentary soaps. Air-conditioning in living area and master room but not in the 2 other rooms, fan not working in 2nd bedroom. Lovely big kitchen but if you like your plates, glassware and crockery organised this will do your OCD in. Master bedroom has a huge ensuite with Spa bath. Enjoyed the stay and would stay again.
