I hired equipment and an operator from these guys for a wedding. Overall things went reasonably well and we even got some system upgrades we didn't pay for. Inevitably though some things did go wrong. This is totally reasonable and understandable though.Regarding these issues that we had (which were mostly around missed cues and ordered equipment which wasnt provided) I reached out to the company via email on January 28 regarding my wedding on January 22 and it took multiple emails and about 4 months of waiting to get them to reply to me. When they eventually replied they showed an invoice from January 23rd (the day after the wedding) showing a trade discount. With a bit of back and forth they were eventually able to provide me the refund I required. Although I am still a little confused as to why they took so long to get back to me.Overall they are good value and I would recommend you go with them if you are a Wollongong local. However if you are from Sydney or surrounds they aren't the most organised so you may encounter some troubles with deliveries and/or operators.Ideally I would go with 2.5 stars however Google doesn't allow for this. Justification being that technology provided was good value but disorganised practices and poor communication. Also when you consider the parts of the event that the operator we hired got right, it may have been cheaper just to get a friend to do the work so not good value there.

We hired a PA and music speakers for a wedding. Very happy with the advice received - definitely suited our needs perfectly. Very professional on pickup, all the relevant cables were supplied and explained. Good value hire prices. Would absolutely hire from these guys again!

Now there are lighting and audio stores with very similar products all of Australia, however, Claude's industry experience cannot be beat in my opinion. I am a Dj and when ever I am purchasing gear or looking for advice on what applications will best suit my needs from lighting to sound to video projection based on the venue's I play, Claude always has the right answers for me. Living on the South Coast and working full-time makes it impossible to try and head to Sydney to purchase gear and I am so thankful that Claude has such a great store in Wollongong to service the south coast and beyond. It's packed full of top end brands and there hasn't been a priced item anywhere in Oz from the larger sound and lighting franchises that Claude has not been able to match or beat for me. I first used Pro Sound and Lighting in 2021 and was very happy with the price and equipment they provided. This time however, despite hiring the same package plus an additional bottom-tier console and stage rack the price was disproportionately higher. Most importantly, they did not provide appropriate cabling to use the equipment which they provided. They only included 4 XLRs to feed the PA, and no extension cables, power boards or additional XLRs for inputs (essential equipment). I dealt directly with a representative (I think his name was Max), who informed me that they don’t include cabling in their package and was consequently charged an additional $40 for the cabling that should have been included in the package. I should note that the quote I received this time was not competitive in my experience with hiring from other companies in different areas. This is the first time in my personal experience that a production company has ever not included the essential cabling required to use the gear which they have provided. There appeared to be a distinct lack of common sense or care in my dealings with the company, and they will no longer be my first choice for production hire when I have gigs in Wollongong.

Initially these guys were fantastic. Flexible with the package, explained everything. I booked a party package for a party at home. I was looking forward to having a great sound system, disco lights and bubble machine... something for the young and the young at heart !On the day I collected the gear I was told I had everything I needed. The two cables showed to me were the ones that connected to the laptop and connected the speakers.We connected the speakers and the laptop as I was instructed but nothing worked. I called the shop but it was after hours and rang out. So the speakers were useless to me.I pour the mix into the bubble machine.... and it poured straight out the bottom and I was unable to use it.When I returned the equipment to the store I advised staff of my issues. Initially I was told that the bubble machine looked damaged and it couldn't be identified if damaged was done before hire or during hire, accusing me of damaging the equipment put me off side.I then said I wasn't able to use the speakers as their were no power cables, the young gentleman pulled the cables from a side pocket on the cover. When I explained I was not shown there were cables in the pockets he arrogantly responded that I would have been AND I WAS MOST CERTAINLY NOT.I said I had tried to call the store after hours without success. I was told that after hours the calls got diverted to the boss's mobile and would have been answered. I showed my call lists where I had phoned and that it was unanswered. I was brushed off.I will NEVER use this company again. I would not recommend using this company for your party hire equipment.They DID NOT GIVE A DAMN that the equipment was unable to be used by me for my party. I am no tech genius... but if I had been shown where cables were I would remember and have used them.I was shown where to pour bubble mix in ... and I did just that.... and being accused of damaging the equipment was just atrocious.No attempt to mollify me in my disappointment so I walked out absolutely DISGUSTED.

These guys went above and beyond to help with the last minute set up of a screen, projector and sound for my mum in laws funeral mass.. we were told the church was tech challenged and it wouldn't be possible to show a video of photos with her favourite song. With the service at 1 pm that day I rang them at 9 am and they swung into action....There were a few hiccups with our computers and trying to get everything to work but they didn't hesitate to stay and get it all working in time. Thank you so much for helping us to set this up so we could share our beautiful memories with everyone there.

These guys were fantastic! I hired a full set up for my wedding - they were very helpful - answered all my questions quickly, delivered and installed equipment on time, picked up the equipment without fuss...and the Mackie’s I hired were pumping! A big thank you to them (and their main man, Claude)!
