SG Hair

I used to visit SG Hair 10 years ago and then went to a salon in the city as I moved, I recently returned and have now visited twice this year as I wanted to give it another go. Honestly for the price you pay there are much better salons in Sydney. I don't find the team have a strong colourist, and I don't find the stylists friendly at all. I find the apprentices lovely and the owner, but the stylists themselves are not and have bad attitudes. I have had my hair coloured and cut, and was not impressed by their work. There are a lot of positive reviews on here, but I would love to know whether people have tried another salon. SG Hair is a big fish in a little pond in Penshurst, but for the price the team need to up their game if they want to compare themselves to other salons in Sydney.Strand Gossip team- no you will not be able to find me in your system under this name as its my maiden name. I have already raised my concern with the stylists directly, however they didn't seem to care to be honest. Hence my review here.

Unfortunately customer service was bad. The hair stylist was more interested in pranking other employees than in cutting my hair. I was trying to start small talk but for nothing. With time, I was more and more terrified how my hair will turn up but fortunately they are ok, hence 2 stars instead of 1. I wasn't even asked if I wanted some styling, I had to ask myself to get a little bit of curls. I felt that everything was rushed and I wasn't feeling comfortable. Definitely not coming back, sorry.

SG is an inviting local salon, with professional and friendly staff at an affordable price.Kate was very confident and did a great job of my recent cut and colour.The entire team at SG are very experienced and have never let me down. :-)

I highly recommend SG hair,I have been coming here for all my services including a weekly blow dry for years.I especially love that I am always kept up to date with the latest trend & is always in great condition with Redken.Awesome work guys.

Absolutely love the transformation Leah & her amazing team achieved with my hair!!! Unlike most hair salons, the friendly staff talk you through what they’re doing, & recommend the right products to use, making it easy to recreate the style yourself at home. I’ve always kept my hair long because it was easier than dealing with my curls but thanks to the team at SG I’m loving my shorter, curly style. I can’t recommend them enough!!

The staffs are so lovely and patient with my 4 yo girl, it was her first experience in hair salon, and it was so pleasant. Thank you :) Highly recommended.

Had my hair coloured, cut and styled by Brittany. I am over the moon, finally I come out looking like I wanted to!!I'll be honest I come and go from SG salon only because they do colours upstairs and I find the stairs difficult, I should have asked a long time ago, silly me, because they can accommodate you for colour downstairs, obviously.I walk into this salon not fearing for my hair, which can't be said for many, many other salons, I can assure you!!Between what I wanted and Brittany's advice, suggestions and expertise I am ecstatic!!Thank you so much!!

Leah and the team are amazing - not just amazing hair stylists who give a relaxing head massage with each wash and cut a killer bob/lob, but are amazing humans as well.My Mum has motor neurone disease and the team are gentle and kind with her. They take the time to pamper and chat with Mum during her cut so that Mum always leaves the salon in high spirits.Thank you Leah and team!
