Merriwa Motor Inn

This review is based on a three night stay in a queen room on the long weekend.The room was a good size with a handy walk-in storage area that was great to store bags etc. out of the way. The bed was comfy and the bedding good. Water pressure was strong and the temperature good, although at times it did seem to drop but soon returned in a few seconds.The cleanliness was good, however attention to detail was needed in small things such as the dust on a light switch and the marks on the wall surrounding it, the discolouration at the bottom of the white shower curtain, dust on the top of the lace curtains and stains on the teatowels that were provided. Otherwise, everything else was fresh and spotless on our arrival.I'd stay again as it was conveniently situated and very quiet.

Have enjoyed the Merriwa Motor Inn over the last month we've been visiting... feel safe and it's close to everything.

I stayed here with my parents and 2 toddlers in July one night in a family room and the second night we had 2 separate rooms. The first night the aircon just blew cold-moderate air out, the second night was much warmer. However all 3 rooms had a strong smell of some kind of disinfectant spray which gave me a migraine. I tried to air the rooms out in the afternoon but didn't do much. While I understand the rooms need to be sanitised, the smell was way too strong

Rooms are clean and tidy, excellent location and reasonable price and court that you can expect in a country side motel. I would like to stay again.

I’ve stayed in many hotels all over the world. I couldn’t fault this one in any way. It was very nicely presented and had everything you need. Would definitely stay here again

before booking I read reviews and was concerned until I noticed all the recent ones were good. our room was clean, well presented with comfy beds and staff were great. we stayed here for 2 nights and will happily return. Couldn't fault it

This is my first public review, ever. I am very accommodating and understanding, and should only one, or two of these things happened I would have no need to comment, but….1. Seriously overpriced. I was charged $160.00 for a room for my wife, daughter and I for a damp dog box. But that wasn’t it…2. The advertised Motor Inn Wifi was non-existent. But that wasn’t it…3. When I went to the kitchen to order some of the advertised dinner just after 6pm, the sign read: Short Closure, Back in 20 mins. After 30 mins I returned, but the sign was still there. I then took my family to the RSL, only to see the manger and staff drinking beers….4. Rodents in the roof and cupboards. Very noisy. After running about for hours, one got caught in the bathroom in between the extractor fan and the light fitting. He made an almighty racket and his urine quickly stank. At midnight I moved to remove the light fitting as it was clear that he couldn’t escape and won’t be quiet. In the dark and trying my best to not wake my daughter, I wasn’t quick enough to catch him, and he escaped into another open crevice in the flooring. But that wasn’t it…5. In the morning I sought to speak to management on two separate occasions. By 9:30 am the front office was still closed. The office didn’t open until after the 10:00 checkout time…. But that wasn’t it…6. I rang Management the following evening. Management was completely dismissive and unwilling to acknowledge the issues raised, saying only that I should have raised these issues with them when i see them drinking at the Club, or rung them at midnight when the rat was caught in the extractor fitting, making its racket and urinating on the floor…Never again at this place, or anywhere else where they’re connected with.

Staying for 3 night, staff friendly. Room is clean and well appointed and maintained. Highly recommended!
