Great walk. You can get to landslides from staircase from narrow neck rd or I prefer to use Furber steps at Katoomba falls reserve to get down to federal pass , then walk past scenic railway and coal mines. After here you follow the higher dirt trail (not boardwalk).Next you climb over a few fallen logs through rainforest like vegetation. You will see a sign telling you that you are in the national park. Then there is an area of walking through a coal seam.Soon afterwards you are in an open area with no tall trees with only shrubs and talus scree. Now it will requires rock scrambling at times. It is often hard to find the trail as rocks always moving .The trick is to look for yellow metal poles marking round about where there is a trail. It doesn't matter if you lose the trail as you just follow the Cliffside .The missing trail" area is only about 100 metres of the walk.Easily done as a walk to landslides then backtrack to return. Can also be done as a brief stop on way to ruined castle(boring) or much further along to mount solitary(hard day work). If you leave the walk by returning the same way you can save your legs and go up the scenic railway($21 one way) instead of the furber steps.Personally I prefer the steps (and stop to take 3 sisters pictures)."

What a fantastic lookout and an even better abseil! Stick within the boundaries to be safe unless you are trained and are daring enough to rappel off the edge!. Apparently there are rock climbing routes up the cliff face but that just straight up seems dangerous with all the loose rock I saw on my way down. Some of the bolts didn't look too old but they were all towards the top. Everything further down was rusted and you'd need trad gear to get you going

Beautiful, isolated spot, away from the tourists right next to the road.Gives you a different view of Jamieson Valley (can't see the Three Sisters, though).Short walk from the road with steps.

Beautiful and private spot. A few uneven paths and steps but easy enough if you take care. Really loved it.
