Norfolk Pools

We engaged Norlfolk to design and build two residential pools. The process from planning, design to construction was pretty effortless. Despite, encountering a couple hurdles along the way, the way in which both Jim and Danica dealt with these issues promptly, professionally and fairly was admirable. We were very happy with both finished pools and would definitely engage them again on future projects.

Danica and the team at Norfolk Pools were brilliant to work with. They helped design and build our perfect pool, working collaboratively with our builders during construction. Despite wet weather and a few other obstacles, they were always responsive and understood what we were looking to achieve. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

Fantastic family business. From the get go, they were very professional and happy to provide guidance throughout the whole process, making it very streamlined. Their communication was outstanding. Once the pool was completed, they were more than happy to assist when called upon. Would gladly recommend them to anyone wanting to install a pool.

Jim came to our place and was given the specs for the new design for our new home. The construction was not the normal hole in the ground, but a suspended pool some 3 meters out of the ground. The team that came out, meet the challenges for the site location, the difficulties with water proofing, in that under the pool is a wine cellar, and height issues. The pool finish and equipment are great, and has certainly added value to our home.

The ability to be able to ring our Norfolk consultant at any stage of the construction and ask questions was fantastic. WORST company to use for a pool build!!Heaps of communication during the sales phase (of course) and then absolutely nothing!Had we not chased them constantly nothing would have happened! Jim told us the pool would take 2-3 weeks (it was dug months before) and now 7 weeks down the line we’re chasing for things!We had Murray as a supervisor, poor communication, didn’t bother to respond to messages, turned up unannounced and constantly looked like he’d rather be anywhere else! Hard to talk to and poorly explained things!Yes the contract clearly states that no electrical work is covered or completed by norfolk but No-one told us that we needed an electrician to earth the glass fencing until the day it was required, no-one told us the heater was 15amp (so would need a different plug/socket) until the last minute so we’re then rushing around to get this stuff done!Constantly heard about the 90-100 other pools that they were digging causing delays for us, despite us paying $50k for our pool, Jim directly told us that he didn’t care!Charged us for temporary/safety fencing in the contract but didn’t actually put any up, we asked and they said no!! We even referenced the safety for our 3 yr old and they still didn’t put any up! Charged us for rubbish removal but the tiler just dumped everything on our driveway and we had to place on skip bin (that only got provided because we chased it) even then the tilers threw their own rubbish on to the pile whilst we were in the process of putting it in the skip bin!! How disrespectful and rude!We were told the chemicals and handover kit would be provided on a Friday then got contacted to say they couldn’t do it on the Friday due to other jobs, Murray rocked up the following week on the Monday and said he couldn’t do anything as no chemicals! He then ordered them and we had to wait for them to be delivered the following day! Office ordered them to the wrong address so we had to go and get them from the other address (Jim didn’t care and said to leave it….4 large bottles of acid, magnesium salt, the handover kit, chlorine)! Murray then came back 2 days later to put it all in and said he’d return the following day, Murray returned and then told us about the heater being 15 amp so he couldn’t do anything, we had the plug within an hour but then didn’t hear back from Murray for days! Once again he rocked up unannounced to “check on things”, we asked if he was here for handover and he said no, he’d come back Monday, Monday comes round, Murray doesn’t and no communication to say why or when he would then be returning! Chased up, the following day and basically got told that they “don’t care as trying to cut 40 other pools” - not our problem!!! Just do the handover, send the final invoice and let us be done dealing with this company!!BE WARNED, they’re just after your money! As soon as something gets delivered you’ll be billed and have less than 24hrs to pay it! Contract says supply and install but Norfolk don’t care about that! We were getting $10k bills at 2:30pm requesting payment same day!We just requested a refund for rubbish removal and safety fencing and got told by Jim to “stop being petty”, he also seems to think that temporary fencing is the same cost for 1 day, 3 days or 3 months so offered us $200 refund! Absolute joke!COWBOY company!Update following response from owner……No threatening behaviour has occurred what so ever. Yes we have said we will come to your office because you and your staff keep terminating the calls! We’re a frustrated family TRYING to finalise our home and move from a construction loan to a home loan! Not once were we contacted by Norfolk pools with updates and had to chase everything!Yes we failed the initial certification, YOUR supervisor didn’t point out any issues with our pool prior to the certifier coming and having never built a pool before how are we to know? Also YOUR COMPANY provides the CPR sign with the handover kit which occurs AFTER the certification, so your company knew full well that we wouldn’t pass!

After several false starts from other companies, we were happy someone could follow through, design and build our pool. An excellent job finished just in time for spring.
