Fitzroy River Lodge

First the good. Sites are a good size and power and water are available provided you check In before they are all gone. No bookings taken but they seem to have plenty of sites. Once you check in you choose your site.The not so good, the men's urinal is out of order and looks like for a long while. It appears they clean the toilet itself but the floors look like they have not been cleaned for months.Food at the bar. The bar looks good but prices are crazy $17.00 for a schooner of beer and a lemon squash. I had pork spare ribs terrible. Potato salad inedible, corn Cobb great, spare ribs dry and tastless I did not eat them all and none of the potato salad. My wife had a very nice ham and pineapple Pizza.Would I stay again maybe but $52 a night is not fair value. Would no eat here ever.

Where do you start ! We stayed one night unfortunately in the powered section in the caravan park. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE PARKAblutions -SHOWERS - FILTHY ,TOILETS - FILTHYGROUNDSUnkempt prickles everyware.POWER FOR VANFirst two outlets did not work.Spoke to the Manager " in the morning she was not phased by this and continued on like a conversation had not just been had.Must be happy with all the local patronage that pay exorbitant prices for the alcohol and food .I am not really all that precious about most things whilst travelling but give this place a wide berth it is a s@#t hole."

We stayed only one night, but it was like being in the middle of a building site. Trucks pulling in and out all night. Then a whole brigade of vehicles set off around 5am. They charged full price and it was pretty awful.

Extremely friendly staff at the River Lodge who go above and beyond for their guests. Great facilities and great location.My partner had his boat and car parked there for 4 weeks, and we were really grateful for the team who looked after our gear for us. We thank the team wholeheartedly for helping us and we'll definitely make a stop back at the lodge on our future travels.

The reception staff were not very friendly or welcoming, and our friends felt the same. The amenities were not very clean, and the fan and urinal in the men's were not working. I think that I saw only one rubbish bin in the whole place, and the camp kitchen needed some cleaning as well. The lovely and impressive entrance was not how the the rest of the Resort presented itself. Its a shame because the Resort has the potential to be something special.

Very basic accommodation but clean with aircon. Food alright and adequate parking available.
