Great place to visit especially if you read a booklet called ‘explore the wonders of wynyard’s geology’ before you go. Pick it up from the tourist information Wonders of Wynyard for four bucks. It explains the geology in plain English.

Great place to beach-comb and explore! So many incredible little things to discover. Unfortunately it’s not very pet friendly with strange rules for dogs. Dogs are only permitted during certain times. Also there aren’t any amenities, so if you need to go, don’t stop here.

I could waste hours here. The stones are very interesting to look at and honestly I could’ve taken home a bucketful. Might not be such a good swimming beach, but still a great place to bring a picnic and spend an afternoon. People of all ages will enjoy looking for fossils in the rocks, and collecting any particularly nice looking stones. I’ve never been to a beach like it. It’s very worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Beautiful beach. It would have been nicer in Summer months as when we were there, it was a bit cold. That didn't defer the kids to get in the water though. Had a great time. Definitely worth going if you have a chance.

It’s quite and beautiful but there’s no more fossils parking available no toilet short walk
