The Lea Bush Camping
Loved this peaceful bush camp.I didn’t use the kitchen, but the toilets, showers & washing machine were clean and worked well. Instant Gas hot water, so once the cold clears the pipes, the shower is HOT.Wildlife right near the campsites: wallaby, kookaburra and some unidentified rustling, hopping & growling.Check in at the caravan office next to rubbish bins at the top of the hill (photo).I wish I could have stayed longer!

Awesome stay, such a pretty and tranquil place. Well priced. Great for kids. Showers and toilets clean. Laundry facilities too. Supports the scouts as well. Site caretaker super helpful with info on our travels. Thank you!

This bush camp is on top of a hill set among trees. Spots to park your camper, 5th-wheeler, caravan or car are loosely scattered around. You can find a place in the shade of trees or in the open to charge your solar panels. Good showers and toilets, washing machine, camper's kitchen, and cheap firewood. Watch out for the wildlife at night, especially possums will go through your rubbish looking for food.

Yes, this could be the perfect camp, however... We stayed here a few nights and the price is definitely a steal for what you get so close to Hobart. Unfortunately, the word has obviously got out and when we were there, the camp was maxed out to its capacity (or beyond?). It was full of a wide range of campers including a mix of budget wizz-bangers, families with young children and permanents. Even though it's a managed camp, nothing stops anyone from going out for the night, then returning at 1am of 2am and making lots of noise, which happened on numerous occasions while we were there. It is not uncommon to have to queue up to use the toilet, shower or hand basin in the bathrooms, for example, there are only two hand basins (one of which is tiny) for all of the females in the campground. The local wildlife" consist mostly of huge possums who have grown used to the permanent food source of tents and campers and woke us up several times climbing all over our car and roof top tent. Many campers in the camp seemed to have set up for the long term

What a great campsite! Beautiful bit of bush and absolute bang for your buck! Facilities are clean, volunteers are so kind and helpful, and the overall vibe of this place is lovely. We stayed here our first night in Tas and came back for our last, easily our favourite camp that we’d been to.

We stayed here about 5 or 6 times during our time in tassie as it’s just so close to Hobart. It’s great camping, lots of wildlife, good facilities. And decent price. Great place to base yourself!

It was a nice camping. All the facilities were working without any problem. The hot showers were a 10/10.It gets quite busy so I recommend to go early to get a spot.We paid $10 per person in an unpowered spot.

Had to sleep in our car because the possums were trying to get in our tent looking for food. One even climbed it. I guess it’s good if you are on a self contained vehicle, but have that in mind if you are on a tent.
