Bordertown Recreation Lake
Fantastic free camp grounds with clean new toilets and covered bbq area. There's plenty of bins as well as a caravan dump point too. The lake is great for walking the dog in the morning before starting the next leg of the trip.Don't forget to leave a donation before driving away!

Peaceful little spot! Heaps of room for all rigs. Only one basic toilet available but it is a donation for staying, so I assume amenities will get better if travellers contribute. Lovely walk around lake with some sculptures.

Great donation camp at Bordertown Rec ReserveIt is the near the train tracks and can have a little rail noise, but this didn't bother us, Good for an overnighter on the way to Adelaide. Plenty of campers and felt safe. Busy but quiet. Lots of birds.

What a beautiful place to park up for a day or three ( donation honesty box ). A lovely lakeside walking track with arty stuff to see and only a short walk into town. Sites are level and grassy and plenty of good shady trees. All in all a great spot stop before going into Victoria,

Beautiful little free camping stop for a big road trip (donations welcomed). Aside from bugs at night it was truly a little piece of serenity. A sunrise walk around the lake to appreciate the super clear water and some local artwork dotted about was my personal highlight. Toilets, BBQs and bins were all also welcomed for our one night stop over.

The lake is a magnet for bird life and various recreational activities by local residents. The single flush toilet is quite functional and electric BBQs a nice feature. There is a dump station and water taps but none clearly marked as 'drinking water'The road noise from the adjacent overpass is very loud (trucks) as is the horn from the trains that pass throughout the day & night.Small grass area near dump point for camping but a much larger bush camp area adjacent.I don't plan on staying again.

Absolutely stunning scenery. Excellent for bird watching. Walk around lake is 15-20 minutes. Some nice art/history around the lake walk. Picnic tables, bins, public toilet, bbq facilities and plenty of parking available. No swimming allowed. Free self contained vehicle camping next to lake.

Great tourist park in an easily accessible location, with plenty of open space to manoeuvre large vans. Plenty of large trees for shade, but plenty of open space to ensure sunlight for solar systems to charge batteries etc. Well maintained space, but unfortunately some have left broken better bottles and remnants of campfires which was the only downside. Beautiful lake to walk around too. Donation required. Well be back for sure!
