Nice cafe in a good location.Decent menu options and great customer service. Can get busy before train services, but in general a good spot for a feed/coffee

A Shadow of its former glory, heavily reduced menu and quality. Not recommended.Barron's Bistro was once a brilliant way to spend your morning for breakfast, whether intending to board a train or not. The menu and meals were diverse and flavourful and the opportunity to eat inside of decommissioned train carriage unique and wonderful.However upon my recent visit, I came upon a closed carriage and a menu reduced to what amounts to cheap hotbox food. The scones were bland with a tiny amount of jam and tasteless cream all of which was of the cheap store bought variety. The meal itself was run of the mill hotbox food and the Iced chocolate I got came with evidently refrozen ice-cream and almost not chocolate to speak of.At the very least the service was friendly, if a little poor due to them seemingly forgetting the scones until asked.Exceptionally disappointing.

What a find !!!The Best eggs Benedict and big breaky ( the day starter) I’ve had since moving to Queensland from Melbourne!I personally went back to the kitchen and thanked the staff. Compliments to the chef !Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection! Eggs perfect , toast buttered , sauce on the side as we’d asked for , extra bacon as they were out of mushrooms , brilliant sausages too ! If only we didn’t live on the sunny coast ! Next time you get the train do yourself a favour and arrive early and enjoy a brilliant breaky !* they also have pre made egg/ bacon muffins for your convenience if you don’t have time before the train arrivesThanks for the team at Barron’s Freshwater connection station !!!

We eat here regularly, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Set up at the Freshwater Train Station you can dine on the original Platform or in a restored Carriage. They have a small bar for a beer or wine with your meal. Once you have been there it is hard to forget

Excellent food and service. A nice touch to enjoy both in a historical train carriage beside the freshwater station. This is a regular for me.

Great food, generous serves and a nice outlook over the railway line onto the Cane fields. They have an old railway carriage done up as an inside dining room, which the kids loved.

Reduced service at the moment. Pre made toasted sandwiches, savoury breakfast muffins, sensational banana bread using bananas they’d grown themselves and coffee plus a few other bits and pieces only at the moment. Eat at the tables in the station which is in a pretty, historical looking ye oldy style with a nice view of horses grazing.LOVELY staff.

More than expected, reasonable price with good food in good size and friendly staff plus good service , please don’t come here so we can enjoy the peaceful environment and comfortable space, nature wild or air-conditioning old style tran...... can’t stress how good is it. If there is 6 starts , this restaurant deserves it!!!
