Simon's Bass Cafe
I stopped overnight at Tailem Bend and I found this awesome coffee shop next morning wile walking the little town.The coffee was great and to top it up the toasted Turkish ham, cheese and tomato was delicious. A great stop wile traveling between Adelaide and Melbourne.

Simon's Bass Cafe
Great little café ! We stopped for a morning coffee break and were happy to find this spot - the coffee is great, all the cakes & biscuits are homemade and delish and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. We recommend sitting under the verandah to enjoy the vintage books & piano in the shade, but if you're into some local café action then choose the comfy armchairs and great atmosphere inside !

Well, what can I say, the gentlemen behind the counter was belligerent and made us all feel uneasy. I walked in the door with my family at about 8.30 am and asked whether the Cafe was open (which I really meant was he ready to serve customers). I was told 'What do you reckon mate, there is a big sign on the car out the front' (using a condescending and annoyed tone). I then asked whether he had a breakfast menu, his reply was dismissive, 'yeah mate down there on the board' in a tone that suggested I should have known that in was on the floor out of my immediate view. Our presence as a family of five walking into his empty cafe was clearly a hindrance to his morning. We walked out in disgust. This is exactly why businesses fail.

What a great find! The coffees were perfect, exactly how we asked, and the best toasties we’ve had in years. A welcoming cafe, well frequented by the locals. Totally recommended!

Left Adelaide early in the morning, did a Google search and stumbled upon this lovely cafe… very glad we did! Great coffee, extremely reasonable prices for the quality and tasty toasties….really enjoyed all the little touches and artisan gifts on sale. Best of all, Simon was an awesome host- friendly and good conversation. Thanks and keep doing what you’re doing :)
