Beautiful old pub. Two fires raging and icy cold beer on tap. Staff ruled and the veggie burger was to die for.

So this was my 1st visit to Portland and isn’t it a quaint and interesting town.We went to the Foundry Twilight markets which were super busy and it was nice seeing people out and small business doing well.After that we went for a wander around the little town and stumbled across the Coronation Hotel and decided to have dinner there. The place was interesting and full of charm. The beer garden was quaint and well set out, even had some old fashioned games for people/kids to play.We were greeted with big smiles and friendly faces, which was nice.The food was delicious and perfectly cooked, now me being a wine guy I was more interested in the wine list.It was small and consisted of all local brands, which is amazing and they all were reasonably priced.The publican Erika took the time to chat to us about the pub, the food and the wine list, she is a delightful person and her staff were super friendly band helpful too.I’m certainly looking forward to going back and having a long lunch there again very soon.Thank you to Erika and her amazing team for looking after us.CheersChris

Not a welcoming atmosphere.Poorly lit area for eating, no direction to seating/ picking meals up/ getting menus or ordering. I didn't collect our meals but had no salt/ pepper nor Serviettes.Food was ok2 of the major problems being the salad left out the back uncovered after being served to us, especially on a 32 degree day and no doubt flies will be landing on it.And there were 2 dogs walking around the area where people are eating and drinking. The furniture has been chewed by the animals, dog hair everywhere in the seating area (not 'dining' area).Needs a serious overhaul of how this is being run.

Came up here with family for the Portland blues festival. What an awesome bloody weekend. Service was awesome, the live music was sensational, and the atmosphere was what you'd expect from a real true Australian country pub. The owner is so friendly and accommodating, highly highly recommend this pub. I'll definitely be making the 5 hour trip to come back here for the next festival

Coronation Hotel
went to the inaugural Portland Blues Festival held at this Hotel. Best 2 days/nights of live music. Awesome to say the least, food, drinks & music with warm cosy fire places inside & outside . Staff were amazing & curtesy car to camping ground where we camped. Highly recommended checking out this quaint country town & a stay over a night or two to really relax & enjoy country hospitality.

Had lunch with my family. First I must say the food was very nice small serving compared to other pubs which was nice but still at the same price as other pubs. When we were there it was very drafty so we were all cold. There was no access at the back gate like before and my 93 old mother had to do all the stairs. Will not return eating with dogs in room with us made sure of that
