White Cliffs Reserve
Nice area but the water was full of slimy green stuff that was collecting around large branches that had fallen into the water. I wouldn't recommend jumping in like on the signage in Pt Pirie...might find yourself skewered on a sharp branch. Very peaceful place though.

White Cliffs Reserve
Quiet spot by the river with plenty of shelter and shade. Drop toilet isn't new but was pretty clean.Would be great in summer as there are rope swings into the water. Perfect for a free overnight spot.

White Cliffs Reserve
A very pleasant spot along a quiet creek. The only downside was that the people who arrived to share the spot at dusk decided to mark only a few meters from us.Otherwise a delightful spot, well maintained with a clean toilet.

White Cliffs Reserve
The White Cliffs Reserve is a great campsite and fresh water creek. Located approximately 2 km's from Koolunga and 10 km's from the township of Yacka, White Cliffs is a local kept secret. With flowing water all year round and at least 7 - 8 m in depth (in summer) this little paradise is great to swim in. There are plenty of yabbies and shrimp to be caught however they won't be very big. This is because there is something in the water that is affecting the way they grow, but there is nothing harmful to any humans or other animals. Even though there is plenty of water in the creek all year round it is best to swim during late spring or anytime in summer as long as there has been some rain in the last 2 weeks. If the creek hasn't seen a bit of rain every 2 weeks or so leaches turn up and ruin the swim. You can swim anytime you wish however its best to swim in those parts of the year, because the water is rather cold during the year due to the over hanging gumtrees, which block the sun and support the swinging ropes. The ropes that hang from the trees should be tested before use, but from personal experience all are strong to take a full grown man. The campsites have open fire areas, however its mainly up to the camper where they wish the fire to be. With this being said any fires at the Reserve are seasonal. Meaning there is only a select amount of days in the year when you can legally light a open fire at the Reserve. If you have a fire permit then its fine, but in case you don't you can check online for the fire ban dates for the area.

Beautiful area to go camping or for an afternoon outing. Good swimming area and baby fish out there right now. It's a little out of the way on a dirt road but worth the trip to be in such amazingly calm nature away from everything busy. Must see for nature lovers.

Beautiful clean campground. Flat areas for camping and there was a lot of water in the river!
