Rookwood Memorial Gardens and Crematorium

Grounds are meticulous and I’ve always noticed there are always grounds men busy attending work in the up-keeping of the cemetery. We had a burial today and I was lost, staff at the office was friendly and eager to help and they assisted me with directions and a map to find the location of the burial. It’s so easy to get lost here, it’s massive!

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is always difficult, and you’d be thankful for a location that’s take care of both funeral services and collection of your loved ones remains.Although the service was nice, the follow up in regards to collecting my fathers ashes was handled incredibly poorly.We had called before hand and had organised an appointment for 11AM. I arrived 10 minutes early and was told that the person I was to speak to, Sabrina, was ‘with family’ and there was no ETA when she’d be back. I explained I had an 11AM appointment but that didn’t seem to matter.I waited 40 minutes and approached receipted again, “No one has spoken to you?” As if she wasn’t able to see me sitting in the office the whole time. I was eventually greeted by Sabrina, who then had no idea why I was there, I had to explain everything to her.Sabrina seemed to show a lack of compassion and interest in the situation, arguing with me that I didn’t have the rights to my own fathers ashes.Sabrina then tried to make conversation with me in regards to where both myself and father were from, asking if Croatia (the birth country of my father) was part of Macedonia (two completely different countries).As I mentioned before, dealing with the death of a loved one is horrible, and you’d think the staff at this location would show more empathy, but they really don’t seem to care and honestly left me in tears after I left the location.

On the day that I picked up my dear old grandma's ashes, the lady was SUPER RUDE . Everything was fine until she asked about the burial. Her wishes is to be scattered into the ocean" I answered. "Uh-ahh" She responded in such a negative condescending tone. I was so shocked but didn't say anything. We did the paperworks

A complete joke, utterly distressing trying to get my mums ashes even though there is no legal contention, no one is opposing us picking them up except the crematorium. I paid for her cremation yet both myself and my father who is her legal husband and next of kin can't get them. Every day is a nightmare. All we want is her home. This has already gone on way too long.

Nice area, generally easy to locate the bigger chapels. But need better and more instructions to direct people to the smaller chapels.

Very nice environment with high quality landscaping.Cafe staff are friendly, and cemetry staff are professional.Much easier to find your way around now.I've booked a lot for myself ....

Well-kept, peaceful grounds...cemeteries are not the happiest of places; however it's lovely enough because my love rests here.

I thought for some time about whether to post a review or not. I decided to post out of a sense of obligation to help others make informed decisions. Firstly my situation was complicated by my family member not completing the process/paperwork correctly. Invocare were great in getting this resolved and I appreciate this.My issues were more with the performance of the customer representatives, the two individuals I dealt with directly. I feel that if things are straight forward, the experience is most likely a good one. However, where there are complications, I don't feel the customer representatives are adequately skilled to manage it, and this led to my poor experiences with them. Firstly, the staff members were unresponsive to numerous requests for updates or guidance over a significant period of time. This led to me having to on multiple occasions escalate issues with management who were helpful. The biggest concern for me was a comment made by one staff member. Having agreed with Invocare on a path forward, I attended the office to finalise payment. When finalising payment the staff member stated to me, It is a shame that your Father is not having his wishes honoured". Firstly the staff member felt she had met my Father

Had a great experience when purchasing our plot. We would especially like to thank Sabrina who was extremely friendly and accommodating with our preferences!
