Cakes & Shit

if you need a cake this is the place to go. Bought a vanilla cake last Friday for the misso’s 30 and everyone loved it. will be coming back.

I work in Fortitude Valley and our office gets treats from Cakes & Shit at least monthly, which is how I know about them. I recently wanted to order a birthday cake for my partner at the last minute, but they're a busy bunch and said they couldn't fit in a custom cake, though I should come into the Enoggera store by my house and they would have something nice in the case. Beth by sheer luck had made an extra cake that morning, so she dressed it up with beautiful strawberries and chocolate for me to take home. She even had it ready when I showed up earlier than I thought to collect it. Thanks to Cakes & Shit for making the birthday a big hit, hands down you've got the best cakes in town, and you're nice folks to boot!

Really disappointing. I got a slice of a red velvet cake today, and it was like rubber. Not even dry like it was old, it didn’t have any crumb and I could have bounced it off the wall. Only got a few bites in and had to abort. It’s a bit pricey but would have been worth it if they could bake a nice cake, the icing was good.

This is my now my favorite cake shop. I ordered an oreo cheesecake and is the most delicious thing I've ever had

Leave work early and drive to the Gaythorne store expecting it to be open until the closing time of 4pm... how wrong I was. Went to The Cheesecake Shop instead. Change your operating hours if you can’t man the shop until your advertised operating hours.Reply - no you certainly did not. We were standing outside the shop at 3:56pm and the girl inside had the whole shop closed and was cleaning up.

Came in late on a Saturday afternoon and bought the last full cake that was available. Price was $50 and it was well worth the money. Cake had a lot of flavor, was moist and enjoyed by everyone. Would highly recommend and will be returning in future.

We dropped in for coffee and cake today and thoroughly enjoyed it. We each had cappuccino's which were perfect. The coffee beans are roasted by the owner in Tweed Heads.I had a slice of lemon cake which the woman behind the counter told me was made using her mothers recipe and was absolutely lovely. My wife had a slice of the salted caramel cake and said it was just right, nice flavour without being sickly sweet. We'll definately be going back. Highly reccomend

This bakery is a welcome addition to the area! The cakes are unique, funny and very delicious! The Tirama-Brownies is a fantastic sweet treat to share and the Brownie is a crowd pleaser! The staff are great-humoured - we had an absolutely jolly afternoon with Beth!Already recommended the place to many people in the few hours since we visited!

If this was an episode of nailed it they would have failed it. For the price I paid (almost $250) I wanted a small cake for about 10/12 people and 24 cookies. I put in examples of text and wanted other sayings too however only got what I put as examples. I wanted blue and pink on each cookie with gold leaf and 12 were blue and 12 were pink with minimal gold leaf. They looked nothing like the sample image they have online. I had screenshot a pic of the cake I liked from their previously made cakes and I got one that was similar only smaller (about half the size) and the graphics were bad that I've seen better work scratched into school desks. In the end I took them as it was better than turning up with nothing. However I won't be returning as I think even though I don't bake or decorate, I could a done it better for cheaper. It was very disappointing.If your proud of your quality of work, put it on your business fb page and ask people what they think of it, compared to the first expectation pic.Edit: the taste of the cake was also not edible. My sister had the first piece and told everyone to eat the icing but the throw the cake in the bin as it wasn't edible. That is something that was not able to be fixed at the store beforehand.

Cupcake was overpriced and quite dry. Tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. The place feels like it’s trying to hard. Not a fan, probably wouldn’t rush back. Maybe would try one of the other cakes but definitely not a cupcake.
