SJD Homes

I went to SJD Homes for a quote on building a new home. Kevin Pearson was one of the most professional people I have dealt with when getting quotes from builders. And trust me we got a lot of quotes! He was patient and extremely knowledgeable. Super helpful. He is an asset to their company. We didn't end up building with SJD Homes but would certainly not hesitate building with them in the future. Their quality is of the highest standard.

This could be the worst builder in the world.During the planning stage, my wife and I had high hopes with the support we were given. But once the build began, SJD did not want to comply with any repairs or rectifying any issues. Our kitchen was 1 meter short and when I asked the building supervisor, Mark, about what had happened, he blamed the electrician which SJD allowed us to use a private electrician. We measured the kitchen on the day and both Mark and I could see it was not to the plans. I never got an answer to the issue and two weeks later, I was sent a progress payment. I had to then refuse to pay the payment to get the kitchen fixed.There was pipework for the bathroom which was kinked and not fixed until i pointed it out. The only reason I pointed this out was because I saw plaster was about to begin.Just prior to handover, someone had tried to break into our new home and SJD did not inform us, and then said it was on us to fix the door through insurance. Luckily, we had our CCTV cameras installed which showed the break in happened prior to handover. This did take 9 months to fix.My wife and I moved in last June, and we still have cabinets to be replaced in our kitchen which we have been waiting on for 6 months now. I have tried calling SJD and I cannot get an answer. These are the main issues that we came across, there was a lot more especially with the finishing of down pipes, brick work, plumbing, tiling and more.I would not recommend SJD to anyone, ever. Unless you have a trade background, you're going to be in for a painful build.

Just a quick review after living in our home for the past 3 months, all we can say so far is how well the team at SJD homes have performed at each stage of the building process.Initial meetings with Leigh S at the display village in Officer were fantastic due to Leigh's overwhelming knowledge of the homes and construction methods used to build them.Fast forward to colour and fixture selection and the team involved there are very helpful. Our site supervisor, Scott C was a terrific S.S., always keeping us up to date with all the activity that was evolving on site.Very happy with the finished result and all of the minor blemishes that were noted after handover have been promptly rectified by the great admin team at head office.We have not hesitated in recommending SJD at any stage since our first meeting and will continue to do so.Kind regards.

We have just finished building our second home with SJD Homes and again, can't fault them. From the beginning with my sales consultant Lynne who listened to our requirements and incorporated them within our budget to my fabulous supervisor Shane who kept me updated and was always one step ahead, to the office staff that were helpful throughout the build and answered my many questions. They were all amazing and we now have a beautiful home that came in on budget and before time. We won't hesitate to build again with SJD Homes

i have recently built an investment with SJD. What a fantastic company! i had Aaron as my supervisor and he was awesome! His attention to detail was amazing. Nathan was our sales guy and he thought of stuff we didnt think of which has made our house so much better.well done SJD, you can tell you run a tight ship and everyone is working together.thanks again we love our home, highly recommend

We had an amazing experience with SJD Homes!From our first dealing with Jean in sales, we felt at ease. Everything was explained very clearly with Jean including all inclusions and packages. She worked within our budget and they provided amazing options. Our colour appointment was also a great experience and we made things work. The whole build was communicated clearly and updates were given the whole way through. Our supervisor Jason Kelly really kept us in the loop and was flexible with any changes that arose. They are extremely approachable, have an amazing attention to detail and it was all round an awesome building experience. Especially for first home buyers. They have incredible value for the inclusions and packages. We would 100% build with SJD again and recommend them for all of our friends and family. Thank you to the amazing team at SJD. From when we walked in the door to the contract stage, the colour appointment and all through to our final build inspection we’ve had the best experience from SJD. Extremely friendly, attention to detail and just down to earth approach to real customer service. Amazing value for what you get in your inclusions and packages. They are very flexible with changes. We’ve built 3 times now and SJD are by far the best we’ve dealt with. Thank you for the amazing team at SJD. We can’t wait to move into our beautiful new home.

I really didn’t want to have to leave a bad review for SJD but I’ve given them over 3 months to rectify the problems and we still have parts of the house not completed.We have damaged floor boards still needing replacing.Skirting missing from the kitchen benches.Windows that won’t open and a bent window frame, this frame should never have been installed to begin with.Missing frame around the front door.The wall paint is a different shade due to change in brands after contract! This is just a few....We also extended and changed things around on the display plans which ended in no lights in WIR’s, in the hallway and above a powder room vanity.I’ve built with another builder in the past and never had any issues!Update: 17 months since moving in and the bent window frame has only just had an angle placed over it (repaired). We are still dealing with the issue of the wrong colour paint! I would give zero stars if I could.

From the moment I walked into the display over two year ago and met Tracey Johnson the consultant, my journey to building my first home became a great experience. From the detail of options, ideas and concepts, Tracey's experience and above all else genuine interest in my future home sold me into wanting to work with her and the team at SJD Homes. I had many conversations and questions and I was always made to feel as if I was a priority. From the office staff to the building team, the feeling of the success of my new future home was their priority. Aaron the building managing took his time to explain in great detail the processes. He had attention to detail and should there have been a few issues they were addressed promptly and all communication followed through via email. His friendly nature and experience made the difference in my experience. I took ownership of my home on Dec 15th, 2016. They promised me I would be in my home by Christmas and true to their word I hosted Christmas dinner. The team are experienced and understand the needs of clients. They are open with communication, honest and reliable. Between Tracey and Aaron I would not hesitate in recommending SJD Homes and working with such an experienced team of individuals.
