I'd been wanting to really focus on developing my voice for years and have had on and off singing lessons with various teaches between my own performances.I was looking for a vocal coach to help expand my voice, with an approach that would work for me. Although I have only had a few lessons with Mel, I have made more progress in those few lessons than I have done in years on my own.Whilst I am a very loud and boisterous personality usually, when it comes to singing I tend to go rather quiet and shy. She's so knowledgeable about the voice and has tertiary qualifications in music and vocal pedagogy to back it up, plus the road-hardened street smarts from gigging regularly. Mel is one of the most enthusiastic and passionate people I know. She has an impeccable understanding of the mechanics of the voice and is able to impart this knowledge onto her students, making them able to improve their vocal strength through simple and understandable explanation and use of exercises. Not only that, her attitude and warmth is inspiring. She makes her students feel comfortable with their voices and helps them to gain the confidence to share their talent with others, something that at first can be extremely daunting. Lessons with Mel have actually been life changing.
