Izakaya Sumi Claremont
First time trying this place. There are 8 of us plus 2 kids on the table. We probably should have got a bigger table. Having said that the food that we ordered have all exceed expectations. So i am very impressed. We ordered 2 sukiyaki 1 beef and 1 miso seafood. The beef sukiyaki is the star here. One of the best one i have tried in perth. The sushi is also very good. Dragon and spider. The yakitori is superb. The mentaiko spaghetti is also nice. For dessert we ordered matcha ice cream. Overall this is a very good japanese place if you would like to have a proper meal. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

First time here , the place look great !Friendly service and good food ,We have some issues with the food , some of them was cold and took longer to arrive,They looked under staff, I could see that they were struggling.I would give 5 start but the service is something that it has to improve, food was amazing, super fresh , staff super friendly and dedicated but the venue is in need of extra help to give to all the guests a proper experience in my humble opinion.I will definitely come back ! Food was delicious!

Went tonight for the first time to Izakaya with my partner - chilli night but the place was packed (always a good sign). The gentleman behind the counter was fast and efficient and was able to accommodate us earlier than our booking time (in regards to that - we got a call telling us to come earlier but when we got there the gentleman behind the counter told us there was a misunderstanding and couldn't accommodate us earlier. He was able to still let us in earlier anyway - and apologized in a professional and efficient manner). Eel fried rice was nice and earthy - scallop and jellyfish salad was a nice surprise - sake marinated was a touch on the dry side (not going there in a hurry) and beer with sake was fresh and was delivered to our table shortly after the order was placed on the iPad. All in all, basic atmosphere but fresh food and precise and extremely polite service - will visit again.

Menu was extensive and had something to cater for everyone - my youngest at 11 years loved the fried chicken and skewers, and my Mother-in-Law at 73 years loved the beef sukiyaki and prawn tempura. A great casual and cosy dining experience! Will be back, highly recommend!

Fresh sushi! Our meal was so delicious, great food all round. So easy to order from the tablets at each table, fantastic range of Japanese food and drinks, with a good section of sake to chose from.

Very nice place for dining. Clean, fresh and bright atmosphere as the restaurant has only been opened a few months ago. Ordering via electronic tablet on the table only, once ordered, no cancellation allowed. Maybe can change the system so that customers can review the items together before pressing submit rather than submitting each dish individually once pressed!!!Staff encountered for the night are all friendly except need to work on answering to the ‘call staff’ once customer pressed the button. We’ve had to press it 4 times and still no one attended so had to make a hard effort to try and wave at the staff physically for attention.Each dish are all well presented and will make you drool and want to dig in right away. Although not quite to the 100% authentic Japanese flavour I was expecting but they were still all very delicious. Unagi tempura was one of a kind, never seen it in any of the Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Perth.One star down for the service but also for not providing pickled ginger with the dishes, even with sashimi. I’ve not been to one Japanese restaurant that does not provide pickled ginger!! Really disappointed!!And lastly, be warned, they do NOT do any sushi here, only very limited selection of single serve nigiri!!! Huge disappointment, but we still enjoyed the other food.

Great vibe and service. You order on a tablet and they bring it to you very quickly, was really impressed with this system. The food itself was ok, honestly nothing really special but if I had to recommend something it’d have to be the wagyu beef skewers and the crispy salmon fish skin.

Brand new! So it's clean and modern and has a easy ordering system. Good range of menu and beverage but spaghetti is not what you expect. Just go for Japanese dishes. I recommand Sukiyaki for winter time
