It is hard to describe just how amazing my time with Simmone at Pilates 44 is. The studio is a beautiful space with lots of natural light. The equipment is high quality and instruction is outstanding. Simmone’s classes are creative and fresh while working toward mastering Pilates movement and breath work. I can walk in feeling foggy or anxious with a stress headache and after the session walk out feeling lighter, taller and headache free!! Bliss !I look forward to my class every week, I wish I could go every day ! Although I’m not able to do that, I can still move through a session with the Pilates 44 online studio !

This is a great studio that even in group classes, can know the individuals and works with us all around our separate restrictions. I'm seeing great improvement after every session.

Pilates has not only kept my arthritis at bay, it has taught me all about how the way we move determines how well we age. Simmone has an excellent understanding of the body and the way it should work. All movements are carefully considered for each individual and nobody is overlooked in her small classes. She can deal with all ages, body types and abilities. Men and women young and old. A very competent and effective teacher/trainer.

Having had no experience with Pilates, i have found the past 15 weeks or so amazing. Simmone was able to help me grasp the basics and move to more challenging work. I've found my lower limb mobility improve immensley and have sincerely enjoyed the mental wellness aspect of Pilates. I could not more highly recommend Pilatess 44 for anyone looking to get started or just interested in the benefits of pilates. Thanks again Simmone!

My functional movement has been limited due to severe chronic pain, my weight, my fatigue and mood.Since commencing 1:1 Pilates sessions approx 4 months ago once a week, I feel I have achieved a overall reduction in constant pain down both my legs by 25% up to the Xmas break. I actually was very surprised on how much my body responded. I still have quite severe right hip flexor pain and outer hip pain into my backside but feel I am gaining some strength and muscle tone back through the top of my thigh and hip flexor.On commencing I found it very difficult to stretch and engage my hip flexor and leg. Outside Pilates my hip is extremely weak, painful and I’ve been limited in my ability to walk, get up with ease, bending and found it difficult to get dressed. I’ve preferring to not push my endurance as I knew it would result in pain. Now I’m currently tolerating increased movement, and more optimistic that with Pilates assistance I may be able to delay surgery until later.While not attending in the Christmas/New Year break I noticed my pain was creeping back in and it was much more frequent in terms of intensity and length.On commencing I’d noticed that my right foot was losing sensation I have diabetic neuropathy coupled with CRPS in my right foot, in my left foot I have severe Achilles tendinitis caused from continuous limping and pain in my heel and ankle on my left leg was enough to keep me awake at night. The neuropathy and lack of feeling on my right was concerning me that I was heading towards losing my toes. I’ve always had foot pain and was losing my balance I’d fallen or tripped a few times.I’ve noticed that my balance has improved I’m hopefully I’ll reduce further loss and tone issues.Before Pilates my mood has been low and I’ve been quite depressed. I’ve felt that my pain has restricted me so much that my weight has increased and I cannot lose it. It’s made further attempt at hip surgery less possible due to my BMI. I’ve felt teary and lost, frustrated that I couldn’t do what I used to. My confidence and self esteem have been at their lowest.I feel my weight is contributing to my pain and that it’s a catch 22 if I can’t move more freely I can’t walk to lose weight.My rib pain is one of my biggest limitations at commencement, I breathed very shallow as deep breath increased my pain, I’ve guarded my ribs and my posture has suffered. My core strength is very weak and had a flow on effect into my shoulders. Im learning new ways to draw in breath and move it allowing my ribs to open, it’s early days with my rib pain however I’m hopeful.My left shoulder pain connected to my ribs has been very painful. I naturally sit forward instead of lengthening my spine, my shoulders have learnt to sit forward and in turn leads to further pain in migraine and tension in my neck and head. Pilates is helping me learn better posture to position my body and re-learn where it should sit in space.After each Pilates session I feel more energised, feel my mood lift and feel more positive and happier. I feel my body connect more with help and feel its’s listening & wanting to do more.I’ve always struggled to exercise and love my body but each week I wake up wanting to go excited at what I might be able to achieve and find that the combination in breath, mindfulness and movement is what my body is responding too because I feel Pilates is kind to it.I feel more goal oriented and I’m learning how to speak and think more kindly to my body as it responds. I feel Pilates has become more then a answer to my pain, lessons in a whole lifestyle change in terms of mind, body, spirit and breath.I’ve personally known Simmone for over 40 years and seen first hand her personal growth in growing her studio, she’s a true professional and it shows within the space she’s created. Simmone has been warm, kind, experienced and compassionate to me while pushing me to get my best result. I couldn’t recommend Pilates 44 more.

Doing Pilates has made me more aware of my body. Simmone is amazingly good at giving the exercises you need at that moment. Arthritis is now pretty much under control (except in my fingers!) and slowly I’m learning to balance better. Thank you Simmone!

Simmone at Pilates 44 has helped me beyond measure, both physically and mentally. I look forward to my classes all week. Simmone is friendly, very well trained and has created an beautiful space to practise in. So excited to have such a wonderful studio west of the mountains!
