I was very impressed with the quality of service. I had an urgent need for a violin bridge replacement and new strings on two violins. Doug delivered an excellent and efficient service. He used a bridge that suits the violin very nicely and recommended good quality strings to match the different instruments. The price was unbeatable. I would highly recommend this store for anyone wanting quality service of their instrument and an efficient and reliable turnaround time. The location was also accessible (driving or public transport).

We were referred here by my daughters violin teacher. The service turned out to be amazing considering we just wanted a string changed. The Luthier really loves his craft and gave us good honest service in a friendly, educational and engaging way. We really came away feeling we got a lot more than just a business transaction.

This place is truly a hidden gem! I was looking to get a viola for my daughter because she outgrew her old one and they were so kind to take time to understand my needs and explain me the different models eventhough I was just browsing. Their customer service is top notch and exceptional. I live in the lower north shore area and there are a couple of string shops closeby where I live but decided to try this. I eventually brought my daughter in for fitting and bought a viola for my daughter. I will definitely return here for other items. I would truly recommend them for any one looking to buy a string instrument.

I was looking for a 4/4 violin for my son and have been to a few violin retailers. North Shore Strings is the last shop we go for try out as I was impressed by its 5-star reviews (all of them). From the moment I rang and spoke to Doug I could feel his sincerity and friendliness. We walked into the shop half an hour before their closing time but Doug showed his patience and encouraged my son to try out 6 violins! Throughout the conversation and Q&A, Doug gave out lots of useful and genuine information on violins rather than selling. I could feel his passion for his instruments. We went back the next day to buy the instrument and other accessories and Doug made it a great deal for us. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Doug!

Amazing service, I cannot recommend highly enough.Will certainly be back for all my cello and violin needs.

Just randomly I visited this workshop to purchase rosin for my new violin. I spent a few dollars on rosin, but he ended up offering to tune my violin and to teach me how to take care of the bow etc.Also, Doug is the only violin teacher who has told me that I wasn’t too old to learn violin as I had written to a few violin instructors in Sydney who had rejected me because of my age. I was so pleased to have met Doug today as he has also accepted me to enrol with ongoing lessons.
