Set in the beautiful old Brighton town hall this is a wonderful art space. The exhibition i saw was 'pets are people too '. There is a pet detective sheet for children to fill in which gets them involved in the exhibition and also a table where children can draw their own pet (or pet they'd le to have) and the end result may be framed and included in the exhibition. There's even a day when you can bring your dog!

I was extremely disappointed with the exhibition for the Bayside Acquisitive Art prize. One room of appalling contemporary art, does no justice to the other room which clearly chosen by a different judge that had some interesting pieces.

Bayside Gallery in Brighton is one of my favorite places to visit to see the latest art exhibit. It's a gentle place to wander through viewing the art on show. The gallery is in the City Hall. There is parking at the library next door. Well worth visiting regularly.

Good access for different levels of interest in the public. You'll usually find at least one or two events throughout the year that are of interested to check out, even if it's just for something different on the weekend.

Parking was difficult. All speakers should have stood up and talked louder no one could hear them and the oldies were all complaining. The speakers should have been holding their own copies of their work not the MC. A PowerPoint presentation would have been better. Websites of all the speakers should have been in a handout or written in best writing on a white board. A viewing time should have been listed before the talks started. I enjoyed the exhibits more than the talks.

Fantastic building. Great opening for the Threshold exhibition. I really enjoyed the film works and the photographic displays. A very enjoyable visit with lots of interesting people to chat to, and even went back again. Have been to two exhibitions here. It is an easily accessible gallery with a great vibe.
