I could not speak more highly of Brenda and the services offered by the Gentle Village! Brenda was not only very knowledgeable and professional but also so friendly and warm. We felt at ease immediately! Brenda was able to complete a thorough assessment of our month old daughters lip and tongue tie and the impact on function. She provided this assessment along with a detailed plan of exercises to support her release booked for next week.Brenda was also helpful in engaging our 2year old son (who does not usually warm up to unfamiliar people quickly) who had his ties released at 5months. She was able to identify possible areas where support may be beneficial for him as well. It is so evident that this area is highly specialised and I wish I knew of the Gebtke Village years ago. Brenda is passionate about supporting infants and families in this field and I have no hesitation recommending this service! Thank you so much Brenda!

I highly recommend Brenda from the Gentle Village. Brenda is a truly exceptional midwife and IBCLC who is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, caring and holistic in her approach.I called on Brenda as my 3 week old baby was having difficulties latching during breastfeeding and I suspected he may have a tongue tie. Unfortunately many other professionals, including my son's Paediatrician at birth told me he didn't have a tongue tie. I knew in my gut as a second time mum and health professional myself that something more was going on and reached out to Brenda for support in our feeding journey, along with Dr Shereen Lim at Sparkle Dental.Brenda was so kind and caring, particularly in such a vulnerable time for a new mum postpartum and I felt that Brenda took the time to listen to me, validate my concerns and complete thorough assessments of my son's oral function and confirmed my son's posterior tongue tie. Brenda has fantastic communication skills and was extremely thorough in providing me with feedback, strategies and tips to support our breastfeeding and improve my son's oral function.Brenda developed a comprehensive feeding plan and exercises to complete with my son which has led to amazing outcomes. Following my son's lip and tongue tie release at Sparkle Dental, feeding support with Brenda and bodyworks with Chiropractor Dr Janice Chan at the Spine Studio we have seen significant improvements with his feeding. I felt so well supported by the team approach to my son's care and Brenda helped guide us navigate this process.Brenda went above and beyond to help my son and I in our breastfeeding journey and I'm so immensely grateful for her support. I highly recommend any new mums reach out to Brenda for breastfeeding support if you have any concerns at all- Brenda is absolutely amazing!

We would highly recommend Brenda for anything lactation or tongue tie related in Perth! She spent around 1.5-2 hours at our home on New Year’s Eve morning, was extremely thorough, made us feel comfortable and took her time with her assessment. Mel did a thorough assessment of our bub and turns out she does have some problems but Mel's gentle approach, extensive wealth of knowledge and exercise plan that detailed a clear plan forward.Not only is Mel kind, caring and a wealth of knowledge it is clear that she is super passionate about her job and really made us feel assured. Brenda was an absolutely amazing support during my difficult breastfeeding journey. I initially sought support at the hospital and was told our latch looked fine, we just needed to tweak our position and that the tongue tie wasn't severe enough to be causing any problems. It was a relief to see Brenda and actually feel listened to and validated. I knew the level of nipple trauma I experienced couldn't be normal and something wasn't quite right. Brenda did a thorough assessment and provided us with exercises to support our baby's oral function which have made an immense difference! I feel like I can actually enjoy breastfeeding now, and the beautiful bonding experience with my baby is no longer clouded by pain. I am so happy with the service from the Gentle Village and would highly recommend Brenda to anyone requiring support with breastfeeding!

Brenda from The Gentle Village is a wealth of knowledge and was an amazing support to our family after having breastfeeding issues with a tongue tie . She is a passionate educator and provides exceptional individualised support . This included a written feeding plan and exercises giving us clear goals and direction . We are so grateful for her visiting us in our home not having the pressure of car trips with a newborn.

We had a great experience with Brenda! Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she is super kind and caring. She was very gentle with our bub and gave us lots of tips and tricks to help with some issues the tongue tie is causing. I knew from week 1 that my bub had feeding issues but they were overlooked due to his weight gains. I saw other lactation consultants and health professionals that identified his tongue tie but left us in the dark with uncertainty about whether the tie was effecting his function.I'm so glad we saw Brenda early on in our breastfeeding journey. She validated my concerns, was thorough and gentle with her assessment and provided us with some exercises and a plan moving forward, including referral for tongue and lip tie release.I highly recommend The Gentle Village if you suspect your bub has oral restrictions.
