Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu & Qigong Sydney
Choy Lee Fut is by far the best Kung Fu school I have trained at. When I train, I am constantly learning about the martial art and myself. The knowledge in the school is endless. Before I trained with Choy Lee Fut, my Kung Fu was empty but after training with CLF, my Kung Fu is stronger and more intentional. The school is great for all levels - whether you're a beginner or otherwise.

The best martial Arts school I have ever been a part of. One of the only places to offer traditional kids and adults Kung Fu, Qigong and Lion Dance. Very welcoming and inclusive. Absolutely recommend!

Choy Lee Fut Qigong is Chinese medicine based so the movements are aimed at balancing the different meridians. I enjoy the friendly community that the teachers seek to cultivate before, during and after class. The qigong is pitched at various levels with beginners and advanced able to do the same class.

I would highly recommend this school for anyone who is interested in learning Chinese martial arts. I can honestly say I haven’t found anywhere else like it. I’d heard of Choy Lee fut’s reputation from movies and other people into Kung fu, but hadn’t realised how lucky we were to have the global headquarters right here in Sydney. Beyond the coolness of the style itself, the teachers and senior students are all incredibly welcoming and talented people. In addition to the Kung fu classes, they teach classes in sanda, qigong and traditional lion dance, which combine to create a really unique and balanced training experience that also introduces you to Chinese history, philosophy and culture. Do the free trial- I’m sure you’ll get right into it too!

This is an outstanding, traditional Chinese martial arts studio conveniently located in the heart of Sydney Chinatown. The sifus are very skilled and the students are very friendly. It offers a complete training system with intense kungfu and calming and relaxing qigong and is a whole heap of fun. Strongly recommend with 5 stars.

An incredible school that keeps fascinating anyone from a beginner to a lifetime practitioner. With most dedicated and skilled instructors and a community of a good-hearted people, you will always find and learn something deeper than you could expect for a Kungufu/Qigong school. Online training has also been a great experience for both Kungu and Qigong!

The teachers are very patient and helpful and capable of differentiating for all levels, ages and abilities. The amount of knowledge available through this school is extremely vast, so you will always feel like you are learning and developing. I think the Chi Gong courses in particular would really help people with backgrounds or interest in yoga to expand their practice and knowledge through a compatible system, but also total beginners who just need to get good health routines established and move their body with low impact.

Have trained Taekwondo and Muay Thai before trying Choy Lee Fut. Started with the 1 week free trial and now I've been training Kung Fu and lion dance here for over a year. The beginner classes have been a great grounding in the movements and principles of choy lee fut. The Sanda classes are killer for fitness and fight application. And the lion dancing adds a layer of culture and history that makes it so interesting! Most importantly the people here are super positive and fun! All round great school!

I've been training for years. Aside from learning the martial arts, Choy Lee Fut works the muscles and cardio in ways your wouldn't get the gym. It's a great way to stay in shape on top of learning kung fu.

I’ve been training at Choy Lee Fut for almost a year now, so I thought it was time to write a review. I’ll start by noting that I’m not an expert on martial arts or kung fu. With that caveat, here are my thoughts. First and most importantly, the instructors are amazing! They are knowledgeable and passionate about kung fu, and are extremely generous and supportive in their approach to training students. This is perhaps best reflected in the type of students that are attracted to the school—a very diverse group of decent, friendly people who are there to better themselves by learning kung fu and by helping others to do the same. The next thing that I’ll say is that the style of kung fu is to my understanding very traditional in that it is both an effective means of self-defence and a practice that requires considerable time and effort to learn. (At least, that’s been my experience.) But if you’re the type of person who enjoys learning how to do challenging things, then Choy Lee Fut kung fu is probably going to be something you’ll really enjoy. And finally, in line with what I’ve said about the kung fu being traditional, the school offers Qigong classes and opportunities to learn and participate in Chinese lion dancing. Although I haven't yet tried the former, the latter has been a lot of fun and has deepened my appreciation of the richness of Chinese culture. So to sum up, I have had nothing but positive experiences at Choy Lee Fut and recommend it without reservation to anyone who wants to learn kung fu.
