Definitely worth paying extra for the penguin plus experience! Staff were so lovely and had a lot of knowledge about the penguins and their behaviours. Able to see so many penguins come out of the water and waddle to their babies in the burrows.

Really enjoyed this experience as did the kids. We paid for the underground experience and were so thankful when it started raining.Staff/ guides were excellent and knowledgeable.Long lines at the cafe were the only thing that bought the experience down but it was school holidays and if you get there earlier they were shorter.

Best viewing spot for watching the penguins arriving from sea and marching back to their homes along the rocks on the shore. The Penguin highway starts here. Great views.

Overall, super great location that is a must when travelling around here. The little penguins are cute, and the facility is very environmentally friendly. Seeing those little guys walking along the path made by their little foot over long periods of time is heartwarming!

Penguins Plus does cost extra, but if you want to get up close and less crowds than the main area, this is the place to go. Ensure you have a blanket or a few layers of clothes while you want for the sun to go down, and also some food to eat while you wait.Once the sun is down though, the penguins come out 100s at a time and make their way up the beach which is sight to see.The overall facilities are excellent and couldnt fault it outside the fact you cant take pics, even with no flash, of the pengiuns!

It a life memory beyond anything someone cab describe. Must see with your own eyes!!! While photos of the penguins are strictly forbidden, I attached a few pics from the boardwalks. Cheers!!!!

Fabulous! A must do when on Phillip Island. Totally awesome wildlife experience. Dress really warm, gloves, hat, scarf etc. Take an extra little rug if you can. The action does not start until dark so temperatures have dropped by then. 5.45pm for us in late May. (Best advice we were given). If anyone you know posts photo's of penguins...growl at them as we were clearly told it frightens the gorgeous little penguins & can send them back to sea before they have rested!!!

This was amazing to see, did the underground thing and to have them run past you just inches away. Ashame a lot of people didn't listen to the no photography rule . Poor things have a hard enough time. Shame on you people. Maybe more wildlife ranger's around to enforce this.
