Old Kempton Distillery
Nice place to taste a surprising selection of Tasmanian whiskeys. Nice location with information on whiskey making, decent food with the whiskey and a friendly team. We really enjoyed our time and also took some whiskey home. It is a bit on the expensive side, but certainly something very special to bring back from Tasmania.

A Whiskey flight tasting was the standard $30 which seems to be the average for 4 x 15ml tastings. You get to choose from 8 on offer. A great selection of single malt whiskeys from this region. The food also on offer was reasonably priced and delicious. Also offered other tastings of gin and liqueurs if Whiskey is not your thing. Staff all very friendly.

Took the distillery tour, whisky tasting and gin tasting followed by antipasto platter for my birthday outing. Very knowledgeable young fellow was our tour guide and tasting host. Well worth a visit for either the tour & tastings, or just tastings or drop in for a lunch at the Cafe.Tours are at 11am.

Old Kempton Distillery is an amazing must-see if you enjoy whisky! Their sustainability efforts and use of products from the area are commendable, and their award-winning Solera is a standout.The determination to maintain a high quality and the advancement that has already taken place are admirable.The on-site restaurant is a terrific place for a lunch, and the tour is interesting and educational.

Fantastic experience. Interesting, informative and very tasty. Angus, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly which made the tour all the more enjoyable. Great setup where you can just do a tour, include a tasting if you like or even grab lunch or a snack. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit.

One of the best distilleries in Tassie. I don’t know what the negative reviewers know what they are talking about? They are probably not whiskey drinkers. The price we pay to try the premium whiskey is definitely worth it. The staff was friendly and the food was great. On top of that the whiskies are excellent. PS I am a long time whiskey drinker

Wonderful place, people and highly awards products.Strongly recommend visiting this heritage property with so much to offer, see, enjoy and experience inside and out side.They distil onsite and make such a sensational range of gins, whisky and liqueurs.Plus a gift shop with perfect presentation boxes and a range of local hand made products alongside their spirits.Delicious food and best coffee in town. The Fund raiser for the toy run (under the Christmas tree), is being well supported.Highly recommend, take a tour and get a taste of what Old Kempton Distillery is all about.

Old Kempton Distillery
What a fantastic place to visit and taste whiskey and gin. We had lunch there today and they could not have been more accommodating, even bringing out some food for our dog. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were amazing. Young lad behind the counter knew all the history of the building. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice day out. We will definitely be back!!!!
