Hertz Car Rental - Wollongong Downtown HLE

Terrible customer service. Went in last week trying to rent a truck. The female customer service staff member was not interested in helping. We left without booking anything and made out way to sixt where their staff was super helpful and polite. Will never go back to hertz again.

Was very bad experience . Customer service employees are not helpful, booking a car and on arrival no cars were available ,did not even call to say that. Not the first time

I recently hired a 19 cubic metre pantech truck from Hertz Truck Rentals at Unanderra.My entire experience could not have been better.Right from the moment I easily reserved the truck online, throughout all of the confirmations and other communications, online check-in, vehicle familiarisation, vehicle cleanliness, reliability and fit for purpose and finally the return of the vehicle I was thorough impressed with the professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness of the Hertz staff and their systems.The rates were also very competitive.I will most definitely be a returning customer.

I just lately had another fantastic service at Hertz Unandera, Thank you all for the wonderful service.

We called the Unanderra office the day before during their open business hours to confirm our hire car would be ready at 10am the next day and were told yes and that we had to stick to this time (rather than adjusting it slightly). We arrived the next day and were told the car would be 5-10 minutes as they were finishing off washing & detailing it. This was fine, and I mentioned that I had picked up my husband from work to collect the car so I just couldn't wait long as he had to return to work.Stuff around with the paperwork and no communication between the staff. I was told to sign the paperwork without sighting the car/condition, when it clearly says on the paperwork to sign acknowledging the condition of the car. I was just told the staff member took photos.. Which the paperwork also says I should have been shown prior to signing. We then took a bunch of our own date stamped photos.The manager's exact words were then The car should be ready soon so your husband doesn't have a panic attack". Rude

Booked 7 seater Kia Carnival on 13 December for 2 days to travel to Gold coast. My bad that I didn’t check the car properly. When I took it home, I observed that car’s right door was making a lot of noise when the road is little rough, car was not cleaned and vacuumed and there was empty bottles under the car seats, car’s wind screen was so dirty from inside. On my way, it started rain and when I turned on wipers, for some time, they made be blind because wipers were so bad. Seats covers were so dirty that we had to remove them. It really risked me and my family.When I took the car and found issues in it, I called them and the lady told that she doesn’t have any other option of the car.Staff is really unprofessional that they rented faulty car to me to travel over 1000km one way and risked our lives.I’ll never recommend anyone to use their cars specially 7-seater.I wish I had an option for zero star.

Female blond staff very rude non friendly personI have rented many trucks before and will never go back again

We booked (8th December) a Toyota Kluger for five days started from 29th December 2022 to 2nd of January 2023. However, I made a call to Hertz for checking if everything fine on 28th December. I have been informed from Hertz (Wollongong Downtown03/257 Princes Highway (Unanderra)Wollongong (Unanderra), NSW 2526) that the booking is fine. However, when we went for pick up the car on 29th Dec, the staff from Hertz Wollongong said that the don’t have any Kluger hybrid or non-hybrid. They can only give us Toyota Fortuner which is not suitable for our (6 adults+ 1 kid) long drive. Basically, there was no space for bags, etc. Since the dimension of those cars are not the same/similar.At that point either we had to cancel the tour, or we must go for different company to hire a car just within 30 mints (the car pickup time was 5pm). Then we hired another Toyota Kluger from SIXT Wollongong with cost 1488$ (I have all those documentations) where our booking in Hertz for the same car was ~604$+ 89$ insurance.However, regarding this matter I am waiting to hear the company policy of Hertz as I had to hire a car withing 30 mints with nearly 3 times of the booking cost. Also, the mental pressure was not bearable. Please give me your response as early as possible.If I don’t get reasonable/satisfactory response, I will go for support from Fair Trade Ombudsman! Thanks.

We hired a truck from these guys in unaderra. We had a problem with it while we were driving it. We called them, and they didn't really care. They don't care about their customer safety, and they don't care about their vehicle. We then returned it earlier, and they ripped us off. They also don't tell u if u take it back early. You don't get back what ur supposed to. If I could I wouldn't give them a star at all.I will never be hiring from them again.
