Union Pub Barcaldine aka the worst country pub ever with its overpriced food, tiny serves, and odd staff.Unbeknownst to us, on a Monday night in Barcaldine only one pub is open for dinner: the Union Hotel. We enter and almost immediately a sightly crazy old lady orders us to the bar to sign in, but the guy who took our meal order said don't worry about her

Service manager was rude. I wanted to book a room and have a meal for 2 ( cost 184.00) for one night. He sat on the patrons side then got up to serve a patron with a carton, while still ignoring me, and taking his place again on the patrons side of the bar. Went for a drink, im on zero alcohol but they had none so boss went down to the bottle shop and bought some for me.Food was great. Deserved 10stars to this pub

stopped for dinner at hotel ( witches kitchen) beers were icy and food was awesome. had steak cooked perfect and chicken wings. more than enough food for 2. staff were funny and friendly. quirky environment.

Horrible pub with rude staff. We visited on a Sunday and all there was was overpriced pizza. The man behind the bar and lady taking orders were rude, very short, blunt and condescending. Would not recommend unfortunately. However, I do hope others have a better experience.

Have never written a review on anywhere before...but this place was TERRIBLE! Basically ordered to sit etc. OK. Then when we went to order were told to wait. Not nicely. She was muttering and saying if people are hungry they can wait for it. While waiting to just order, we saw the meals being prepared and dumped in what was a tiny little plate. I thought it must have been the kids meals for the size...but no! In the end we left before even ordering. I love to support local...but this place doesn't deserve it!

Beautiful meals compliments to the Chef, the menu has changed a little since we were there last year, you order your main meal then order the sides that you prefer, good idea. This is our third year visiting this place.
