A steep and rocky ascent is rewarded with magnificent views. I managed to make it to the lookout for sunset and was easily able to find my way back to the car in the dark with a head torch. This is a hard hike, but with views to die for and the occasional pair of wedge-tailed eagles to see, I definitely think it's worth it.

Great view at the top. Strongly recommend taking the longer route up and down. The shorter route is extremely overgrown and sketchy track to follow with very few trail markers.

A fantastic view from the lookout, but steep up and steep down. Worth the effort tho, especially in good weather. I wouldn’t do after wer weather; could get slippery!

A beautiful view once you reach the top. A little bit of a hairy walk! Bring a walking stick to assist you as there are lots of rocks, step inclines etc to get around. Watch your footing as well.

Really great hike! The views from the top are stunning and the walk is quite fun as the path is a bit overgrown and you need to find a way through. We took our time and had a picnic at the top!

This is the number one walk in the Grampians for scenery and rock formations combined with the fact that it is a much more secluded walk. Anyone can do this walk unless they are physically incapable. Always take the route up the western side and come down through the gully.

Hidden Secret! I climbed these with my boys, it was fantastic. Apart from the views, and the wild flowers, we saw skinks and shinglebacks. The walk does take a little while if you start late in the day, as it gets quite hot. It is very steep, specially toward the end. You need to take plenty of water with you, and have a least a reasonable level of fitness. You could take small children with you, but be very careful as the track is narrow at times, and there are a lot of lose rocks. the views are stunning though, once you get to the top. Try Mt Thacheray next while you're in the Western Grampians!

Pretty challenging hike, make sure you are well prepared. Tracks are overgrown and there has been a landslide on the right side of the mountain. Beautiful views.

Amazing hike to the chimney pots. One of the better day hikes in the Grampians. Can get quite steep on the way up and tends to remain damp due to the tree coverage. But worth it once you get to to the lookout.
