Basic station that can come in real handy if you want to get about. Links up with buses and timetable seems pretty efficient, especially if either line does the job for you.

RELATIVELY BUSY STATION ON THE HURSTBRIDGE LINECollingwood station is on an elevated section of train line as it snakes up north from North Richmond.Lots of stairs and fairly old infrastructure but it's well lit and usually fairly busy.Some trains run express and don't stop here so check before boarding!

A typically basic and old-fashioned station on the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines, but nice enough - I've never had any issues here, other than some overcrowded trains in peak times. It's nicely located between Gahan Reserve and Collingwood Town Hall.

A relative safe station compared to North Richmond station. Collingwood station has Protective Services Officers on the station at night which is a added benefit if you are a female travelling at night by yourself.

People complain because of some of the colourful characters there, but it’s a well serviced station with lots of lighting and station police. The police station is right at the bottom of the stairs if you feel unsafe: Can get crowded after school.

I heard that this was one of the two most overpoliced train stations in Melbourne (other than Footscray), but I didn't expect the visual comedy of like two PSO's, four ticket inspectors on the platform, a police station and 6 police cars parked right outside.

Collingwood railway station is a train station located on the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the north-eastern Melbourne suburbs of Abbotsford and Collingwood, and opened on 21 October 1901 as Collingwood Town Hall, being renamed Collingwood on 1 May 1909.The station buildings and platforms were rebuilt in 1987, and were in use by 7 September 1987.
