Train station wise, it is five stars. The toilets are clean. The staff are friendly. The seats are clean. The platform is clean. The place is easy to navigate.Saw a staff stand in the rain to prepare the ramp and wait for a disabled person to make their way up the platform.

Mates and I were going to Brisbane and the train line broke, then we were kindly greeted to a bus ride the rest of the way from staff.

The current Cleveland station opened on 24th October 1987 as terminus of the line progressively extended from Lota to Thornside (1982), Wellington Point (1986) and finally Cleveland. Electric trains have operated all regular services beyond Thorneside since opening. However, another Cleveland railway existed on the same alignment from 1st November 1889 to a terminus further east called Cleveland, renamed Cleveland West when the line was extended to Cleveland Point (near the old courthouse) in 1897. In 1927, the original Cleveland station was renamed Cleveland Central. When the line first opened, services ran to Wooloongabba station (located where the Woolloongabba bus station is today) as the line to South Brisbane didn't open until December 1891 and the Stanley Street station (at the current Maritime Museum) was too congested to handle any more terminating trains. A station called Raby Bay opened in 1914 roughly at the site of today's Cleveland station and remained in use until the original line was closed beyond Lota from 1st November 1960. Fortunately, the Redlands Council had the foresight to preserve the alignment, allowing the line to be rebuilt after the previously rural area became suburban.
