Larrimah Wayside Inn Caravan Park

This little pub is a hidden gem. We came across it on our way to Darwin. There is so much history about the area from WW11 and the pioneers. There is a museum across the road with lots of information about the 20,000 or so military personnel, including nurses who worked there snd the rail system. The staff are so friendly and make you very welcome. We even had a musical evening with the barman playing the guitar and singing for us. The caravan park attached is simple but comfortable and had a pink theme.Attached to the park, there is a great aviary, with so many different bird species, some cute little sugar gliders creatures and a rathet large jumping crocodile". All in all a very interesting place to visit."

Небольшой зоопарк с птицами и несколькими свободно разгуливающими валлаби (низкорослыми кенгуру). Валлаби вполне ручные, позволяют себя гладить. Не забывайте закрывать ворота когда входите и выходите чтобы валлаби не вышли. Многие попугаи тоже не против чтобы им почесали за ушком :)

Absolutely brilliantly authentic experience. Staff are absolutely lovely and accomodating!!! Very traditional and quirky little set up, thoroughly enjoyed :))))

Getting rundown,a lot of work needs to happen,to make it a must stay.

Great park for over night stay, lots WWll history to see.

I have stayed here a couple of times, don't expect 5 Star amenities.

Only one star, but wouldn't have missed it!The current caretakers, a backpacker, eastern european couple, did their level best, single handedly (ok, four hands between the two of them) cooking, cleaning, mine-hosting and minding the crocs and other creatures. Plus visitors.A historical/hysterical place.Amenities borderline, atmosphere and stories that go with this ramshackle WW2 wateringhole make it not to be missed.
