Very nice and calm place to spend a sunny afternoon with friends and family. Great views of the lake. Good scope for photography.

What an ideal spot this is for family picnic. Extremely picturesque lake, with lots and lots of black swans, cokatoos amd other wild life. Cokatoos get really chirpy in the evening and you might get to see swan ducklings as well. Lots of shaded areas available for picnic. A good play ground. Vast green lands for a bit of footy and soccer. There is tram coffee shop near the playground as well. And just across the road there are beautiful and tranquil botanic gardens.Overall A must go place.

Shouldn’t a fairy land at least have some fairy lights twinkling amongst the trees at night and back lit trees. Hi hum. I suppose imagination would be too much to ask for out of a public servant. It’s just another section of the park.

Lovely place for photography and bird-watching. Birds here are so attached to human that they actually approach to you even you are not feeding them. Fantastic.

Saw some wonderful photos online and thought of dropping by during holidays. Only 2hrs drive max from northern suburbs. You could spend an hour or two to walk a stretch of lake wendouree and botanical gardens opposite. Loved it! Would recommend for those who don’t mind walking and peaceful nature environment. There is a cafe facing the lake as well, why not having a coffee with a lake view.

This area is an incredible place to find in the centre of Ballarat the walkways and resting areas make it a complete relaxing few hours.

Aussie version Swan Lake. I would say a must-go if you like flora and fauna.
