All in all good experience, check and check out was smooth, rooms were clean. 10 mins drive to esplanade. My room was facing main highway and it gets too noisy at peak time in morning and evening.

My partner stayed here after being flown in by the RFDS for an operation. The ladies looked after him and made sure he was comfortable. To the tall elderly lady with white hair he forgets your name but he says thankyou.

Probably one of the worst experiences staying at a hotel I have ever had. I'm usually not one to post negative things online but this occasion was so bad I feel obligated to.I had a late check in and the key was left in a lock box with a code (all the information I got). The lock box was communal and had another persons key inside, aswell as a key card for me. Mistakenly I took both the key card with my name (thinking this was for access purposes) and took the other guests key thinking it was mine. Got into the decent room and got settled after an 8 hour flight. Then at 12:30am the property manager banged on the door, unlocked it straight away and began yelling at me in an extremely aggressive manner. Whilst I was not fully dressed I apologised multiple times and explained I had misunderstood. She continued to storm through the apartment pointing out the mess I had made, yelling at me, and even called me stupid. At this point I was in tears packed up my stuff and moved to my intended apartment which she then threatened to kick me out of (although I had prepaid for two nights).I spoke to the receptionist the next morning and she was lovely, I couldn't speak higher of her. She professionally passed on my dissatisfaction to the owner. I realise this was my mistake and an inconvenience but I am still extremely disappointed in the way the issue was handled - it was totally unacceptable, unprofessional and frankly disgusting on a personal level. I cancelled my following night as I was that uncomfortable staying there.Apart from the manager and the black curly hairs I found in the bathroom and kitchen, I'm sure it would have been a pleasant place to stay. But obviously won't be returning.

Very noisy - probably not a good choice if you're planning on sleeping early. You can hear everything going on around you with the thin walls and doors. People were partying in the garden and it sounded like it was right outside my window. The door was a little loose in its hinge and it was windy, so it would thud against the doorframe every few seconds. Can also hear a lot of road noise as others mentioned. The rooms themselves are basic but fine. Some oddities - I couldn't figure out how to turn off the lights next to the bed, for example. There wasn't an obvious switch. The room didn't feel the most secure with only a small chain latch keeping the door closed.Location was ok but could be better. About 20 min walk from the main Cairns Rd downtown area.

This is a really nice hotel. Clean, spacious, friendly, and half kitchen amenities. We enjoyed the hotel and the staff a lot. The location is pretty good but it's clear it's not the nicest area in Cairns. By way of example, we were harassed by a local lush. It might have just been a random incident but it was a little uncomfortable. Without getting into the details, it set the mood of the area. The rest of the experience was great. The boardwalk is 20-30min walking. We walked everywhere and only took an Uber when we were feeling lazy. The hotel was a nice refuge after a long day of experiencing the local museums, aquarium, ZooM (small zoo), and the restaurants.

Late check in, small pool. Breakfast is simple but fresh and fine for tours. Very good verity of rooms. 2 bed apartment is great for self catering and has all the equipment you need. Smaller room still has microwave but if you're going to stay and can afford it I'd opt for bigger apartment as it's so homely.
