Dixon Homes Cairns - New Home Builder

My mum went through Dixon home over 10 years ago and we are just now finding out all the dodgy things they have done to when building our house. They rushed through the job failing to properly waterproof the main bathroom creating around ten years worth of damage to the wall and who knows what other damage. Water has corroded through concrete and makes our shower completely un-usable. They have cause such expensive damage to this house that we highly do not recommend to anyone wanting to build.

We are very happy with our Quality build from Dixon homes. The construction was completed as per their schedule and all our queries were responded to immediately. It really was a no hassle process , Thanks so much to andiope , rachel and rob for the awesome job !

I’m unsettled giving this company such a poor rating because they’ve been brilliant with me NEARLY all way to the end. Until I received a photo from my concreter on what my driveway would look like after he laid foundations. The designs from Dixon Homes look literally nothing like it, showing a much more premium driveway compared to the smaller one about to be poured. Management have stated that the driveway plans were indicative only and that it’s subject to change to suit the quantity allowance. It’s all well and good calling me on a technicality, but it’s besides the point. Why would you show me a design then build something that looks nothing like it. If I had of seen this driveway shape from the start I would have had a widening added to my loan, now I simply cannot afford it and they refuse to negotiate. It’s a shame because I made sure everything with this home was a step above the normal build, then we get to the finish line and this happens. The first thing you see when arriving to the home will never be how I wanted it and how I was showed it would be. I’ve got nothing to do with design or quantities or anything construction, completely naive in it all, how was I ever possibly able to imagine how the driveway would turn out the way it did just based off a value. Not happy Dixon Homes.

How much money buys you a home, how much do you spend chasing a dream? These guys built us a home a real home for our children our dogs and our in laws..... yep enough rooms to seperate opinions and feelings with a deck and bbq in between. These guys saved our lottle aussie Dream.

My home is not yet complete but I can’t praise the staff at Dixon homes highly enough. They have been extremely professional and accommodating of all our needs going through this, at sometimes stressful, but very rewarding process! Andiope Adams, who helped us design our dream home, has been amazing in ensuring all aspects were covered, thinking of things we wouldn’t of thought of but would have wished we did, completely open and honest communication and while always remaining professional we were made to feel at ease and comfortable the entire time.The build has been going amazingly quick and to such a high standard. After spending months researching buy v build and never finding anything that suited our needs and price range on the market, we are so happy we decided to build and were gobsmacked when we realized it was the same price if not cheaper than some of the 5-20year old homes we had looked at!!! I will be updating this review with no doubt, more praise when our dream home is complete!

Dixson homes Cairns have completed our home in Cairns palm cove to a very high standard. the site was clean and tidy a reflection of the trades and supervision. Robert was a great communicator and advised us of any foreseen issues or delays considering the current climate they have managed to keep the project on time and exspected cost. We have built 6 homes and this was the best.We highly recommend Dixson homes Cairns so thank you for giving us a great build a big thanks to Robert and all the management and office staff
