Great place to visit with friends and family. It's basically located inside Australia National University campus. Majority of the sections are free to visit except for special movie screenings that require a ticket. Place is quite nice and well maintained. Public washrooms are available. Also, there is a small coffee shop for visitors.

Australians in Hollywood is a messily presented, narrative-lacking, hotch potch of an exhibition. And at $19, really far too much for the size of the show, ie it’s small. Despite Australians being part of Hollywood since Hollywood was created, the exhibition focuses mostly on Australian celebrities, with the odd detour to cinematographers etc.

A very insightful collection of film and other memorabilia from Australia's past. Also the current Australians and Hollywood Exhibit is a must; showcasing various items from the classic Aussie films.

Australians and Hollywood was an interesting exhibition and well worth a visit, but what was really good were the archive films relating to the planning of the development of the new Canberra, filmed in 1972. Really worth seeing, and gives a good appreciation of the thought and effort put in to produce a Canberra that is still fit for purpose in the 21st century. Recommend it to all Australians. Just take care with public holiday timings as may not match the website information, but reception ensured we were not disadvantaged. Thank you to them for all their help and explanation.

Visited the Australians & Hollywood exhibition. A succinct summary with key movies and actors, directors and contributors. A few memorabilia, pics and info. The website to be used with phones kept getting stuck, and want able to save the photos at the end. Needs fixing for a seamless visit and to avoid frustration. It didn't work.Apart from this paid exhibition there was not much to see giving insight into the Australian film and sound archive. I was hoping to learn and see more. There was a children's level interactive exhibition -hive. But I can understand the other reviews-it was very empty and lacking the importance of film and sound to Australia. Perhaps the exhibition should have parts made permanent to the Archive.

Went to the Game Masters Exhibition, let me tell you; I died then brought back to life to experience a reliving of my childhood then died happily again. I spent a solid 4 hours and 30 minutes there playing the games. What’s amazing about this exhibition is that once you got your ticket, you can renter the exhibit whenever you want from 10-4pm.It’s sticking around for a couple of months, I suggest you Gamers to get a chance to play the classics before they disappear

This place is inside the Australian National University. Admission was free. It's a good place to spend half an hour in Canberra.

Clearly the National Sound and Archive is a hidden gem. We paid to enter the Australians in Hollywood Exhibition, a family ticket is $40. Amazing tribute to Australian Film makers and actors. Take your time and use the headphones to hear more audio content, I learnt so much and educated me about the various roles people have behind the scenes. The amount of Australians who have contributed to numerous record breaking and iconic movies.

V friendly staff and a lovely building where important work obviously happens. However from a visitor’s perspective I think that what I imagined the NFSA to be as a museum vs what’s actually on display / on offer are two different things.Very little to see. This is what you get when governments don’t fund museums / galleries properly.
