Morphett's Engine House Museum | Australian Museums and Galleries | The enginehouse has been fully restored (1986), apart from the original engine. A scale model (1:16) is fully operational and explained by guides. Videos (x3) provide further relevant information as do information boards on all three floors. Walks outside include; via a restored adit into the retimbered shaft, access to Morphett's Windinghouse, pool, mine offices and cottages,

Have to pay to get into this section. Pick up the key and pay the cost at the local Information Centre near the town square first if you want to get in.

Did the heritage tour of the town. Remember to visit the visitors centre so that you can get a key to visit various sites and a map. Didnt get the key but the displays outside was really informative.Really information regarding the history of this mining town.

The engine house contains interesting and informative displays about mining, and there are good views to be had from the open air platform. A key is required from the Burra information center for entry, and I found it well worth the visit.
