Great teachers and a fantastic place for kids to learn

Bluebird Foundation is a wonderful organization that does so many great projects in the community, as well as offering wonderful classes for young people and adults. The space itself is friendly and adaptable for many different purposes. I hosted my mother's 80th birthday party there and it was perfect for a small gathering. An organization well worth supporting!

I did a adult beginners crochet with the facilitator and I left after one hour. I was discriminated for being a left hander while the group was right handers. I struggled with the crochet and the facilitator seemed very impatient with me because I had trouble grasping the basic crochet concept.When I first read her biography I was impressed she was in the disability sector and felt comfortable I wouldn’t be judged if I struggled. The facilitator made a “joke” about she should have a big sign up about “No lefties allowed”. I was insulted and just walked out for the discrimination and stigmatisation for being a left hander.The lady who was volunteering was very nice when she saw me upset-but I will not return to any workshop with the unfairness considering one of their values is ‘Inclusion - Creating community by supporting collaboration and celebrating difference.’

My daughter got chosen by her school for a scholarship to participate in a fashion program, we were over the moon and she absolutely loves it n her mentor.
